Season Two of The Summer I Turned Pretty is quickly approaching, and we’re still torn between Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah. Check out this breakdown of why we’re struggling to choose!
With the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty right around the corner, we’re gonna get a lot more Conrad and Jeremiah content. Now fans are pretty polarized about if they’re team Jeremiah or team Conrad, but personally, we can’t decide. Let’s break this up and take a look at why we’re struggling to pick a team.
Team Jeremiah
Pros:
Jeremiah is the epitome of a friends-to-lovers trope. Just as Belly has had a crush on Conrad for years, Jeremiah has had a crush on her and has been sitting by, patiently waiting for the right moment for the two of them. Now I know what some of Conrad’s girls might say, because Belly has had a crush on Conrad for years, she should be with him. But let’s take a look at how Jeremiah treats her throughout the entirety of the season. Unlike Conrad, Jeremiah never fails to invite Belly, make her feel welcome, and always help her if she needs it. He comes to her rescue time and time again, like when he picked her up from the lake or defended her from girls making fun of her. I mean he adores her and treats her the way every girl deserves to be treated.
Cons:
Now we’re not going to ignore his flaws. Jeremiah’s biggest fallback is probably his jealousy, especially when it comes to Belly and Conrad. He gets pretty manipulative towards Conrad to try to keep the two from hanging out, and not to mention he shoots fireworks at them when he sees them kissing. Nobody’s perfect, right?
Team Conrad
Pros:
It’s pretty clear that the biggest reason to be Team Conrad is the fact that Belly has been in love with him since she was a kid. He was a childhood crush that she hasn’t been able to shake, and of course, any girl would want to see that person finally fall in love with her. You can tell she just doesn’t love any other guy the way she loves Conrad. And although Conrad was pretty distant towards Belly throughout the season, when she really needed it, he was there to put a smile on her face. He swooped in to save her volleyball game, and he was there to save her at the dance when she couldn’t find Jeremiah.
Cons:
Despite the fact that Belly might’ve loved him for a long time, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right for each other. I mean, look at the way he treats her versus the way Jeremiah does. He brushes Belly to the side time and time again, he convinces all the guys to crash her first date and he pretty much ignores her while she’s single, but wants her when she’s taken.
After what we’ve seen from season 1, we know a lot of people aren’t going to agree with this, but we’re leaning toward Team Jeremiah. Now before you get upset let us explain ourselves. Conrad and Belly might be great for each other, but in terms of who was better to her during the majority of season 1, it was Jeremiah. To us, it seems like the right option would’ve been for Belly to choose Jeremiah, but the heart wants what it wants, right? We still can’t fully decide so maybe season 2 will have us thinking differently…
