Why Everyone Is Talking About The Pink Sauce!

Chef and TikToker @chef.pii went viral over her infamous Pink Sauce but it’s been getting massive backlash. Here are some reasons why many have been speaking on the pink sauce and the small business owner.

What You See Isn’t What You Get

When private chef Veronica Shaw went to the internet to show off her culinary skills and creative idea of a new sauce, it went viral.

The Pink Sauce was at first promoted as this hot pink condiment that you can apply to your fries, tacos, chicken, nachos, and anything else you may desire.

However, over time, many started to watch these promotional videos and it looked like the pink started to fade. Every video on @chef.pii’s TikTok page started to have a different tone of pink.

Also, many who placed their orders started to point out the difference in color between what they saw promoted and what they got.

In response to the color change accusations, Shaw says that it just looks different in different videos due to, “lighting.”

No One Knows What’s Truly In It

The pink sauce is now starting to rebrand due to its call out of the ingredients label which included “Water, sunflower seed, oil, raw honey, distilled vinegar, garlic, pitaya, Pink Himalayan sea salt, less than 2% of dried spices, lemon juice, milk, citric acid.” It was also noticed that vinegar was spelled wrong as, “vinger.”

This caused confusion because with vinegar and oil in a sauce, there must be a bonding agent that prevents the sauce from separating in the bottle. Usually, in another condiment would be mayo. Yet, Shaw claims that there is no mayo, no ranch, and only a little milk. Therefore many feel that something is missing.

To add on many pointed out that in her original video that went viral, she demonstrated making the sauce there was what looked like a thick textured white item on the bottom right. Many believe that this may be mayo or something acting as the oil and vinegar bonding agent.

Additionally contradicting that same video, @chef.pii recently went live on her TikTok stating there’s no raw garlic in the sauce, despite that we see raw garlic in the video.

There is just too much confusion of what actually in it.

It May Be a Health Hazard

With the pink sauce not being FDA approved and people feeling as if they don’t know all that is in it, this had many concerned if it’s okay to consume.

The condiment was shipping all over the U.S during major heat waves in paper bag packaging which resulted in many people’s sauce spoiling and breaking during the process.

@chef.pii changed the packaging after the complaints, but this still doesn’t change the health concern. Should a food product that should be refrigerated be shipped all over the U.S from a home-based small business? Many felt it should and went as far as calling the FDA on Shaw.

She felt that this was so unnecessary because the pink sauce is not a “ medical product.” She feels this product, “does not affect your health” and the FDA should not be involved in her small business.

Her live went viral and even had people commenting that the F in FDA stands for food.

The internet did not stop there. Many people started to claim that they got sick from consuming the product and one person even claimed that they died from it.

The person that claimed they died, later on, come back on TikTok saying he intended to do a “social experiment.” He then apologized for his claims going viral understanding how it can drastically hurt this small Black-owned business.

No One Can Describe The Taste

In every video where Shaw eats the sauce or has others reviewing it, not one person can say specifically what it tastes like.

For the sauce being priced at $20.00, people would like to know what they are buying. People want to know is this pink ranch? Is it tangy, salty, or spicy? What does it taste like?

@chef.pii says the sauce simply has its own taste.

Overall, What this chef/TikToker saw as a potential major small business success, many saw as a health hazard. The internet has blown this up, purchased it, investigated it, and judged it, but at the end of the day, Veronica Shaw is growing, improving, and profiting from her unique creative idea.
