Switched at Birth was a touching coming-of-age television show with many important lessons to impart to young adults. Let’s check in with the cast to see how they’re doing now!
Katie Leclerc – “Daphane Vasquez”
Leclerc is now 36 years old. After her run on Switched at Birth, she played the lead role of Auburn Reed on the short-lived series Confess. Since then, you can catch her in films including A Bride’s Revenge, Psycho In-Law, and Christmas a la Mode, all of which aired on Lifetime. Leclerc also appeared in episodes of The Ones and Mesmerized as well as various other tv shows. We can’t wait to see what she does next.
Vanessa Marano – “Bay Kennish”
Marano is now 30 years old. After the Switched at Birth finale back in 2017, Vanessa has kept herself quite busy. They used her in a brief appearance on Silicon Valley. Her sister, Laura, was her co-star in the film Saving Zo. She was even a judge on the kids’ version of Chopped. She also had a role as Nancy Graves on the Snap original series The Dead Girls Detective Agency. We are hoping to see Marano in more this coming year and maybe with her sister again!
Sean Berdy – “Emmett Bledsoe”
Berdy is now 29 years old. After the show ended, he appeared on an episode of Drunk History and as Sam Eliot on the Netflix show, The Society. Since then, he has seemingly taken a break from acting and has nothing upcoming in the works. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that he’ll be back on our screens very soon!
Constance Marie – “Regina Vasquez”
Marie is now 57 years old. Since the show, she starred in the TV mini-series Law & Order True Crime as Marta Cano, the Amazon series Undone, and the Netflix series Alexa & Katie. Constance’s voice can be heard as Doa Paloma in the Disney Junior show Elena of Avalor from 2016-2020. She has also appeared in several television shows. What will she be on next? We are very curious to find out!
Lea Thompson – “Kathryn Kennish”
Thompson is now 61 years old. After the show ended, she co-starred in the film Literally, Right Before Aaron alongside Cobie Smulders. Together with her Switched at Birth co-star Lucas Grabeel, she portrayed Maree in Little Women in 2018. The Sundance Film Festival is presently screening her film Dinner in America. She’s also made guest appearances on several television series, and her career is going strong.
Lucas Grabeel – “Toby Kennish”
Grabeel is now 38 years old. The multi-talented performer has also worked as a director, writer, musician, and producer in addition to his acting career. Following the cancellation of Switched at Birth, Lucas has been quite active in the voice-over industry as well; Pinky Malinky, Elena of Avalor, and Family Guy all include his voice work. In addition, he appeared in an episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which airs on Disney Plus.
D.W. Moffett – “John Kennish”
Moffett is now 68 years old. He continued his career as an actor but also made his way into directing, working on several episodes of Switched at Birth. Since the series’ cancellation, he has appeared on Chicago Med as Cornelius Rhodes and as Bob Cordine on Sean Penn’s short-lived TV series, The First. We can’t wait to see what else Moffett does!
