What Fans are Excited to See in Moana 2

Moana 2, the highly anticipated Disney sequel, is going to hit theaters on November 27, 2024. Fans are wondering how far Moana will go this time and we have4 everything they’re excited to see unfold in Disney’s newest adventure!

We’re setting sail once more! After six years, Disney’s most streamed film, Moana, is returning to the big screen. This sequel reunites Moana and Maui three years after their initial adventure, embarking on a daring voyage across the far seas of Oceania. The sequel introduces some new characters, as well as fresh musical compositions by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear. As Moana answers an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, fans eagerly anticipate the new horizons she’ll explore and the challenges she’ll face.

First Soundtrack Released from Moana 2

Starting out strong, on November 8, Brazilian superstar Any Gabrielly performed the end credit song of Moana 2 for the first time at D23 Brazil. The song beautifully captures Moana’s adventurous spirit and her profound connection to the island she lives on and grows. It combines tribal music elements and continues the theme of pushing boundaries in “How Far I’ll Go”.  

Beyond” is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.

New Villain Matangi

Disney just dropped a fresh poster teasing the powerful villain, Matangi, in Moana 2. Though she made a brief appearance before, this new look gives fans a closer glimpse of the mysterious antagonist set to bring intense challenges for Moana and Maui. Although Moana and Maui don’t seem to be fans of Matangi, fans are already buzzing about the newly unveiled villain. Could she be even stronger than Te Kā as Maui even jokes about missing the lava monster in the trailer? We will find out on November 27. 

Before VS After

The premiere of Moana is already 6 years behind us, as we the audience have grown, so have the characters. Remember the swaggy little boy who danced with such an attitude? He makes a comeback in Moana 2, and fans were quick to notice he’s lost his little tummy—though he’s still as funny and full of swag as ever.”

Moana’s Little Sister Debut

Moana’s adorable three-year-old sister, Simea, makes her debut in Moana 2, bringing a fresh dose of cuteness to the screen. Fans have already noted her striking resemblance to Moana as a child, with her big eyes, playful spirit, and curious nature. Simea’s arrival promises to add both charm and a new layer to Moana’s family story, showing that the adventurous spirit runs strong in their family. 

Who’s the Special Collab Music Artist in Korean Soundtrack?

Disney Korea recently stirred excitement with a ‘Guess Who’ event on Instagram, hinting at a special music artist collaboration in Moana 2 Korean soundtrack. The clues they shared sparked fan speculation that Nayeon from TWICE might be the secret artist. 

The Little Mermaid Korean soundtrack saw huge success with a special collaboration featuring Danielle from NewJeans. With Nayeon possibly joining Moana 2, Disney seems to be making it a tradition to invite K-pop artists for special soundtrack collaborations. 

Moana Live Action is About to Be in Production?

In June, Disney officially announced Catherine Laga’aia as the new face of Moana, with Dwayne Johnson reprising his iconic role as Maui. While fans are buzzing with excitement for Moana 2, Disney is also gearing up the live action production, with filming rumored to start on November 12 on the beautiful island of Oahu. Preparations have been in full swing over the past week, with crews testing and readying the boats for Moana’s epic seafaring adventure. Here’s a little sneak peek of the set and Moana’s boat.
