Usher officially becomes a Girl Dad after he and girlfriend Jenn Goicoecha welcome Daughter Sovereign Bo
Usher Raymond announced Wednesday that he is officially a girl dad as the “Yeah” singer and his long time girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea welcomed their first child.
In a post to instagram Usher said, “We are feeling blessed and full of love with the arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Sovereign Bo Raymond….’Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder on repeat.”
Stars took to the comments to express their excitement for him. Alicia Keys said,”Congratulations brother!!!!!!” Justin Timberlake took a simpler route commenting with emoji praise hands.
Sovereign Bo will join her older brothers Naviyd Ely, 11 and Usher (a.k.a. Cino) V, 12, Usher’s sons from his previous marriage. Sovereign will also be taught her ways by a powerhouse of a mom. The boys can be seen recently with their dad in a Tik Tok video for “The Switch Challenge.”
Goicoechea started her early career alongside her mother Barbra, a former production manager for Act Productions.
She has since established herself as a record executive and currently holds the Vice President Position at A&R at Epic Records. The company represents megastar talent like Mariah Carey, Camilla Vabello and Meghan Trainor. Goicoechea has known Usher for many years according to a photo posted on her Instagram page, dated back to 2016.
Before landing the position as Vice President, Goicoechea was the director of the rhythm and soul department at ASCAP. Her duties included protecting artists copyrights at the Atlanta based non-profit performance-rights organization.
Jenn studied Recording Arts at Full Sail University from 2003 to 2004.
According to her instagram, Jenn can be spotted in a variety of sneakers. The music executive is known to have a large amount of sneakers to her leisure on any given day. She’s also shared photos of her travel life as she’s swam with dolphins and explored South Africa.
The couple has been rumored to have been dating since October of 2019 after they were seen backstage at the Hollywood Bowl together. Usher announced the couples pregnancy on his most recent appearance at “Good Morning America.
“Babies always bring such joy to a family and [I’m] really excited for my young one- well, my bean’s arrival,” he said.
