It’s either every reader’s dream or nightmare–depending on if the movie lives up to the book or not. This year, a handful of movies are being made that originated from top-selling books and we’re here to tell you what they are! Let’s take a look.
My Policeman
Harry Styles fans are freaking out about this upcoming movie that will be releasing on Amazon Prime on October 21st, 2022. My Policeman will be starring Styles, who plays Tom in the film and is based on the novel of the same name, written by author, Bethan Roberts.
This film will involve a love triangle–but not in the way you may think. School teacher, Marion, falls in love with Tom, her brother’s best friend, but while Tom does have love for Marion, he also gets caught up in an illegal affair with a local museum curator, Patrick. While Tom does marry Marion, it is only because it is forced by the unfavorable political situation, in which he leaves his true love of his life behind.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Yes, you are in fact reading the above title right. Released back in 2017, the famous, and top-selling book, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, is finally being made into a movie! Netflix released a statement back on March 24th, 2022, informing fans that they would be adapting the book.
The book “centers around the reclusive yet iconic Hollywood legend Evelyn Hugo as she recounts the details of her life to an unknown magazine reporter named Monique Grant, who is unsure of why such a public figure has chosen her to write her biography,” Netflix stated.
There is no release date as of yet.

It Ends With Us
Based on the best-selling book, It Ends With Us, by Colleen Hoover, fans are way too excited to see this book be turned into a movie! This novel is also one of the most famous books on TikTok.

It Ends With Us is about Lily, a woman who grew up in a tiny town in Maine and who currently lives in Boston. She ignites with a handsome neurosurgeon, Ryle Kincaid, yet can’t quit pondering about her most memorable love, Atlas Corrigan. Atlas unexpectedly returns in her life again, leaving her to question the relationship she has with Ryle.

Persuasion
Based on the novel by the famous Jane Austin, this film is set to be released on Netflix on July 8th, 2022! Starring Dakota Johnson, this novel-to-movie adaptation follows Anne Elliot meeting a man she was convinced not to wed eight years prior due to his humble starting points. Will she quickly jump all over her second opportunity at genuine affection?

Bullet Train
Bullet Train, a novel by Kotaro Isaka, was actually first published in Japan under the name, Maria Bītoru (Maria Beetle). This book-to-screen adaptation will be released in theaters on August 5th, 2022! The cast of this upcoming movie includes Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, Joey King, Bad Bunny, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Logan Lerman, and many more!
The summary of Bullet Train focuses on 5 assassins, who are all aiming to kill the same target while riding in a rail car. Sounds complicated, right?
