AFTERBUZZ TV – The UFC ran another two-event day, with ‘Fight Night’ events taking place in different debuting cities. Never failing the fans, the UFC AfterBuzz team (Daria Berenato, George Hermoza, and Jay Tan) recaps both shows, and discusses the merits and drawbacks of the UFC’s recent influx of fights in such a short amount of time.
Middleweights James Te Huna and Nate Marquardt headlined ‘UFC Fight Night 43’ from Auckland, New Zealand. In the co-main event, Jared Rosholt fought Soa Palelei, while Charles Olivera and Hatsu Hioki squared off in a showdown of submission specialists.
Several hours later, at ‘Fight Night 44’ in San Antonio, TX, top-ranked featherweights Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens threw down in a five-round war. Underneath that main event, Kelvin Gastelum and Nicholas Musoke faced each other on a card that also included Cezar ‘Mutante’ Ferreria, Ricardo Lamas, Clint Hester, and Joe Ellenberger.
