Netflix has dropped the official trailer and key art for Tyler Perry‘s latest series, She The People, giving fans a first look at the gripping political drama ahead of its premiere. Part 1 of the series will debut on May 22, with Part 2 set to arrive on August 14 — both exclusively on Netflix.
Created by Tyler Perry and Niya Palmer, Tyler Perry’s She The People follows Antoinette Dunkerson, a passionate and determined candidate who successfully wins the race for Lieutenant Governor. But her victory quickly becomes complicated as she faces the challenge of navigating her new role under a sexist and condescending governor. On top of the political power struggles, Antoinette must also juggle the demands of keeping her family in check as they adjust to life in the public eye.
The series is written, directed, and executive produced by Tyler Perry, with Niya Palmer, Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Terri J. Vaughn also serving as executive producers. Angi Bones and Tony Strickland are producing for Tyler Perry Studios.
The ensemble cast includes Terri J. Vaughn, Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks, and Jo Marie Payton.
