Trixie Mattel: Aging, Dating, and Wanting to Look Like a Wind-Up Toy | AfterBuzz TV’s LGBTQ&A

Trixie Mattel talks about getting into drag in the back of an uber, not wanting to look like a woman or a man, and throwing up because his wig was too heavy. He also talks about dating apps, lying about his career while on dates, and why his family is unimpressed by his career.

ABOUT LGBTQ&A:

LGBTQ&A is an interview podcast highlighting the different members of the LGBTQ community — artists, activists, lawmakers, and business people. LGBTQ&A is hosted by Jeffrey Masters and produced by AfterBuzz TV. Interviews are also filmed and available on YouTube.

AfterBuzz TV (Los Angeles, CA) is an online broadcast created by E! Host, Maria Menounos and producer, Keven Undergaro, and has over 23 million weekly downloads in over 150 countries. Nicknamed “the aftershow network”, when viewers finish watching episodes of their favorite shows, they can go to afterbuzztv.com to watch or listen to a post-game after-show where hosts break down that night’s episode and interview cast and crew. The network produces over 90 aftershows per week.

Trixie Mattel is the stage name of Brian Firkus and is best known as a contestant on Season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She was a contestant touted by many as an early front-runner in Season 7. A seemingly premature elimination in episode 4 caused outrage among fans, however, she was brought back in episode 8, only to be eliminated again in episode 10.

Since the filming, Firkus has been very open about his friendship with fellow breakout star contestant Katya Zamolodchikova (otherwise known as Brian McCook). Many fans note that her ad-hoc wit is better suited in unscripted environments. She currently stars on a webshow with Katya, entitled “UNHhhh”. It can be viewed on the WOWPresents YouTube channel.
