Travis Scott electrified the crowd at the College Football Playoff National Championship with the debut of his latest single, 4×4.
Performing atop the roof of Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium on Monday, Travis Scott delivered a high-energy performance alongside a uniformed marching band. The brass and synth-fused trap song pulsated through the stadium as the band swung their instruments in rhythm, with one trombone player even blowing flames into the air, adding to the spectacle.
Accompanying the single’s release, Travis Scott unveiled a line of 4×4 merchandise. Demonstrating his commitment to giving back, Travis Scott announced that 100 percent of the proceeds from the merchandise sales would be donated to Direct Relief’s California Fire Relief fund, supporting those impacted by devastating wildfires.
While Travis Scott’s performance took center stage, the rapper is also contending with a copyright infringement lawsuit filed earlier this month by songwriter Victory Boyd. Victory Boyd alleges that Travis Scott, along with SZA and Future, used elements of her 2019 song “Like the Way it Sounds” in their track “Telekinesis” without permission. The lawsuit claims Victory Boyd shared the song with Kanye West and recorded a track titled “Ultrasounds” with Travis Scott. Although Kanye West’s version appeared on SoundCloud, it was never officially released.
Travis Scott’s performance and philanthropy follow a milestone in his career. In October, he was honored with the prestigious I Am Hip Hop Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards. During his acceptance speech, Travis Scott expressed gratitude to his family and reflected on his journey in hip-hop.

“I come from this generation where they considered us nowhere near like ‘hip-hop,’ and every day, I try and push the sound,” he said. “I always had this idea. I had this vision, still to this day, to take the sound and just to take things to the next level, and I’m just so glad that we made it this far.”
