Tina Barta Talks Lasting Legacy On The Challenge

Tina Barta talks about her takeaway from season 40, what it takes to  survive The Challenge, and a Game Of Thrones inspired season!

The Challenge Battle of The Eras is making this a season to remember by bringing back some of the most iconic OG’s, including the legend herself, Tina Barta

The two-time finalist spoke with MTV’s The Challenge Weekly about what it takes to become a Challenge icon, The difference between the OG’s and the newer generation, and where she would like to see The Challenge head next.

It’s been over a decade since fans last saw Tina Barta compete on the flagship series. With a new game and new faces, The Challenge alum says she’s learned a lot from her time on season 40.

“This crash course of the eras throughout The Challenge  has been the best education that I have received, on every single era, what their gameplay is, how they play, who is aligned with who, and who are the power players. This has been an absolute godsend. If I ever do another one…  This crash course did me well.”

Throughout her time competing on the series, Tina Barta has made a name for herself becoming a fan favorite and a true Challenge legend. She credits her success to just being herself, and her perseverance.

“All I know is in order to survive on The Challenge you are tougher than you think you are. If you have that grit, determination, and will, you’ll do it.  Many of the newer eras are taking it superficially and not taking it on how it can impact your life for the better and the lessons you learned. I think a lot of this is just about exposure, but I’ve learned how resilient I am.”

When it comes to the OG’s and the newer generation of The Challenge players Tina Barta says there is one clear difference between the two.

“I relate it to how diamonds are. You have naturally made diamonds, and you have lab-created diamonds. The OG’s from Real World and Road Rules were found in nature, we were found in the rough. We weren’t manufactured or grown in a lab, it was just us, it’s just what we bring to the table.”

There were many players who stood out to Tina Barta including, Nia Moore and Jordan Wiseley, but one person she wishes she had more time to play the game with was Amanda Garcia.

“Amanda was giving me life in that house, she was bringing me back 20 years ago, and people were saying she was causing problems, but she wasn’t… She was talking about the game. She was awesome, I would love to do another one and see what else she brings to the table.”

When it comes to competing on more seasons of The Challenge, the vet says she has been bitten by The Challenge bug and  has ideas for next season.

“I have this parallel of Game Of Thrones and The Challenge. I’m hoping in season 41 you each have your own house, and the new rookies need to choose which house they want to go in, and you throw in your best players gladiator style to battle each other.”
