AFTERBUZZ TV — The Ultimate Fighter edition is a weekly “after show” for fans of Fox Sports 1’s ‘The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned’ aka ‘TUF 20.’ In this episode, hosts Daria Berenato, Jay Tan, and George Hermoza discuss episode 1. This season of The Ultimate Fighter is a groundbreaking first of it’s kind on several levels. For the first time ever, it features an all-female cast. Additionally, the stakes are raised, as the winner of TUF 20 will not only get a UFC contract, but will be crowned the first-ever UFC women’s strawweight (115 lbs.) champion!
For twenty seasons, the show has featured not only up and coming UFC stars but the top names in the UFC working as coaches: such as Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, Jon Jones, Brock Lesnar, BJ Penn, Chael Sonnen, and Michael Bisping. This season, UFC lightweight champion Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis coaches a team of eight female fighters against Gilbert ‘El Nino’ Melendez and his team of female fighters. While the format of the show has changed, the one constant thing remains the same, a fighter must establish himself/herself in the octagon to be the Ultimate Fighter.
