The Sandman Season 2 brings the award-winning DC fantasy saga to a thrilling and emotional conclusion with two new volumes starting July 3!
The Dream King’s journey nears its end as Netflix’s epic fantasy drama The Sandman returns this summer with its long-awaited second and final season.
Split into two volumes, The Sandman Season 2 premieres Volume 1 on July 3 with six episodes, followed by Volume 2 on July 24, featuring five more episodes. The final chapter of Dream’s story promises a spellbinding, emotional finale that will wrap up the acclaimed adaptation of the beloved DC comic series created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg.
Following the dramatic reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless (played by Tom Sturridge) must grapple with the devastating consequences of his past actions. As he fights to protect himself, his kingdom, and the waking world, Dream is forced to confront gods, monsters, mortals—and himself. The second season will dive deep into the cost of redemption, testing Dream in ways he’s never faced before.
As showrunner, executive producer, and writer Allan Heinberg shared with TUDUM.com, “The Endless are supposed to be just that: endless. They’re meant to go on in perpetuity. They’re not supposed to change. But change is, of course, inevitable and essential to all life. Which is something Dream refuses to accept – at first. And when one of the Endless changes, it has colossal ramifications for all of us.”
The final season is directed by Jamie Childs, who helms all 11 episodes. The writing team includes Ameni Rozsa, Alex Newman-Wise, Austin Guzman, Shadi Petosky, Jim Campolongo, Vanessa Benton, Jay Franklin, Greg Goetz, and Marina Marlens.
Executive producers David S. Goyer, Neil Gaiman, and Allan Heinberg lead the production, with Warner Bros. Television serving as the studio behind the series.
The Sandman Season 2 boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Razane Jammal, Ruairi O’Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O’Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore, and Steve Coogan.
