July 17th is National Tattoo Day, and what better way to celebrate this holiday than with a collection of celebrity tattoos and their meanings.
Blackbear
Blackbear went on GQ’s Youtube channel to discuss his tattoos. He mentioned how a lot of his tattoos he lets other people draw and design. One tattoo he pointed out was one that Halsey had drawn on his arm one night. He got it tattooed the next day.
Another one of his tattoos is the letters ‘BEARTRAP” on his fingers, a nod to his independent record label by the same name.
Cara Delevingne
The supermodel and actress has many tattoos, but one of her most recognizable tattoos is her initials on her left hand.
The tattoo makes its appearance in many ad campaigns, Instagram posts, and red carpet events.
Harry Styles
Harry Styles is no stranger to tattoos. He even played a game of “Tattoo Roulette” on the Late Late Show with James Cordon with One Direction where he was given a tattoo of the Late Late logo on the show
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart has a few tattoos, but one of her tattoos she took for a test run of before committing.
While filming Clouds of Sils Maria, Stewart had a temporary tattoo on her right arm. After filming, she got the real thing. The tattoo is inspired by a part of a Picasso painting that the actress saw when she was younger.
Wiz Khalifa
In a 20 questions interview with Playboy, the rapper picked out one tattoo to explain for the video.
He showed the moon tattoo on his forearm. Saying it was in remembrance of his Uncle Calvin whose nickname was ‘Moon’ because he was bald.
Rihanna
Rihanna has dozens of tattoos and a deep appreciation for the art form, saying “I am so intrigued by tattoos. It’s an entire culture, and I study it”
Among her tattoos are henna-inspired designs on the back of her hand down her wrist, a gun on her side, the phrase “Never a failure Always a lesson” on her chest, and countless more.
Ariana Grande
The pop superstar is all about tattoos, even mentioning it in her song “7 Rings” when she sings “girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble”.
Some of her tattoos include (but are not limited to) butterflies on her arm.
