The latest trailer for HBO‘s The Last of Us teases a bleak and action-packed continuation of Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie’s (Bella Ramsey) journey through a brutal, post-apocalyptic world. From harrowing survival moments to explosive zombie attacks, the stakes have never been higher.
The footage showcases a snow-covered settlement under siege, chaotic battles against infected monsters, and a terrifying close-up of a sickle right before a chilling scene of a hanging. Flashbacks of Joel and Ellie appear throughout, with Ellie seen sprinting, wielding a gun, and navigating an underground train. One of the most haunting moments comes at the trailer’s end, when Ellie stares down a remorseful-looking Joel and reminds him, “You swore.”
Season 2 introduces new faces to the cast, including Jeffrey Wright as Isaac Dixon, Isabela Merced as Dina, and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby. Fans won’t have to wait long—The Last of Us returns April 13 on Max.
