Sarah Lacina and Danny McCray are the first winners of The Challenge: USA. They talk about the intense finale that resulted in a challenge first that fans did not see coming.
Sarah Lacina and Danny McCray can now add challenge champs to their resume because they are the first winners of The Challenge: USA.
The Survivor alums beat out the remaining contestants in a grueling battle that no one expected.
Sarah and Danny talked with Challenge Reality News about their epic win, what they thought about their peers quitting, and how they will prepare for The first-ever Challenge World Championships.
Now that the secret is out, Danny and Sarah couldn’t be happier to share the news with their fans and relive the joy of winning the final again.
“It’s a dream come true, I’m just blessed to have the opportunity to get to do it. I’m proud of myself, I’m proud of Danny, the people I got to meet, and the friends along the way. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.” Said Sarah.

“It hit me when I first won, but it hit me again when my mom, wife, and daughter got to see it. My daughter was up late, and she’s pointing at the TV at the watch party saying daddy, daddy, daddy, that’s when it sinks in that you accomplished something.” Said Danny
Speaking of Danny’s family, the Survivor alum couldn’t help but show his love for his wife Kiki during the episodes. He said if there is ever another Bloodlines season, they would be open to participating.

“If the situation works out for her then maybe, we have a little daughter, and it’s tough for her to be away from the little one. Maybe if there is a special setup for her then we may be able to get her out there.” Said Danny.
The final was anything but easy, and this season saw a Challenge first where the majority of the players quit, something that Sarah says she was not expecting, especially from her rival Tyson.
“I didn’t think Tyson would quit, and so I’m like there is no way everybody quit, but the conditions were horrible, and it just boils down to how bad do you want it and is it worth it, for some people it is and for some people it isn’t.” Said Sarah.
Now that Danny and Sarah are challenge champions they now go on to compete in the first ever Challenge World Championship, and Danny says he’s ready to take home the win once again.
I’m going to do more swimming because I see that’s probably going to be a big thing for the upcoming challenges. Sarah is going to send me some puzzles so I can make sure we are prepared. Other than that, I’m going to stick to my normal routine, doing a lot of running, getting my endurance up, and making sure I stay strong, so no one wants to test me in that elimination.”
