The Bachelorette Pause Sparks Major Crew Shakeup

Mass layoffs hit The Bachelor franchise as production halts, leaving crew members in limbo while Bachelor in Paradise moves forward with a new showrunner.

The Bachelor franchise is facing major behind-the-scenes changes following the postponement of The Bachelorette’s 22nd season. Deadline reported they learned that a majority of crew members were recently informed they would no longer be employed on the franchise, sending shockwaves through production teams.

While The Bachelor continues airing its 29th season with Grant Ellis, staffers working on post-season specials will remain until their duties conclude. Meanwhile, Bachelor in Paradise—set to begin filming this summer with new showrunner Scott Teti—will move forward, though its crew largely differs from the other Bachelor productions.

Some crew members may return once the next seasons of The Bachelor, The Golden Bachelor, or The Golden Bachelorette enter production later this year. However, the immediate impact of The Bachelorette’s postponement has left many in limbo.

The Bachelor franchise is produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon. Warner Bros. TV has declined to comment.
