Apple TV+ has officially renewed Ted Lasso for a fourth season, bringing back Jason Sudeikis as the beloved, optimistic football coach. While no other casting has been confirmed, previous reports suggested that options had been picked up for Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift.
Jason Sudeikis shared a statement about the upcoming season: “As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’ in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Jack Burditt, known for his work on Modern Family and 30 Rock, has joined Season 4 as an executive producer under his new deal with Apple TV+. Jason Sudeikis will also serve as an executive producer alongside Brendan Hunt, Toheeb Jimoh, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, Bill Wrubel, Goldstein, and Leanne Bowen.
Bill Lawrence continues as executive producer via Doozer Productions, alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Sara Walker and Phoebe Walsh will write and produce, with Sasha Garron as co-producer. Julia Lindon is on board as a writer, and Dylan Marron as story editor. Warner Bros. Television, in collaboration with Universal Television, will produce the new season.
“Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world and delivering endless joy and laughter,” said Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+ head of programming. “Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.”

The series originally debuted in 2020 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Season 3 appeared to wrap up many storylines, with AFC Richmond’s rise in the Premier League and Ted returning home to Kansas to be with his son. However, fans remained hopeful for more, and their persistence has now paid off.
Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, added, “If ever there was a show the world needed more of right now, it would be Ted Lasso. We — along with countless fans around the globe — have been rooting for another season, and it is an incredible feeling to be able to say, ‘Yes, it’s happening!’”
The show, which won 13 Emmy Awards, including back-to-back wins for Best Comedy Series, Jason Sudeikis, and Brett Goldstein, is set to continue its legacy. While further details on Season 4 remain under wraps, one thing is certain—AFC Richmond is not done yet, and neither is Ted Lasso.
