Taylor Swift is showing love for her longtime best friend Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco after the couple released their highly anticipated joint album, I Said I Love You First.
On Saturday, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to gush over the project, posting the album’s cover art on her Instagram Stories.
“@selenagomez & @itsbennyblanco I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH. OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD,” Taylor Swift wrote, making it clear she’s just as obsessed as the fans. She also linked to the album so her millions of followers could check it out.
Taylor Swift’s post marks her first Instagram activity since December 11, when she wrapped up the latest leg of The Eras Tour and took a well-earned break. That same month, Gomez announced her engagement to Benny Blanco, and Taylor Swift was quick to celebrate, commenting, “Yes I will be the flower girl” on Gomez’s engagement post showing off her stunning marquise diamond ring.
While Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez’s friendship has been going strong for years, Benny Blanco has seemingly gotten to know Taylor Swift more through his relationship with Selena Gomez. During a recent appearance on Spotify’s Countdown To podcast, Selena Gomez recalled an amusing moment from one of Taylor Swift’s parties.
“As a couple, we went to Taylor’s party after some awards show,” Selena Gomez shared. “I don’t know—it was kind of cute, but I was mortified. Apparently, cool people don’t show up to parties on time.”
Benny Blanco chimed in, joking about Selena Gomez’s punctuality. “We’re the first people at every single party when I go with you. You show up when like my mother shows up to a party.”
Benny Blanco also recently revealed that Selena Gomez has turned him into a full-fledged Swiftie. During an appearance on Hot Ones, he admitted that before dating Selena Gomez, he didn’t know much about Taylor Swift’s music.
“She did get me into [Taylor Swift’s music],” Benny Blanco said. “I honestly didn’t know… before we started dating. Like obviously, I was aware of Taylor Swift’s music, but I wasn’t like a true Swiftie until I was with [Selena Gomez].”
Now, he’s all in. “I’ll be like, ‘Put that song on. How’s that one go again?’ And we’re in the car, and I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m just, like, singing Taylor Swift songs from like 10 years ago, and [I] feel free.’”
With I Said I Love You First already making waves, it’s clear Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have a major supporter in Taylor Swift. And given their close bond, fans can only hope a future collaboration between the trio isn’t too far off.
