Spotify-users: this one is for you! Get to know the music-streaming platform better by using these features.
Playlist Folders
If your playlists are all over the place from your workout jams, your ultimate road trip compilation, and your cry-it-out anthems, Spotify lets you get organized! Create playlist folders by right-clicking a playlist on your computer and selecting “Create Folder.” From there, you can drag your playlists into the new folders.
Crossfade
The crossfade feature allows you to create seamless transitions between songs. Go to your Playback settings menu, enable crossfade, and set the crossfade time to six seconds.
Collaborative and Blend Playlists
Check out how your taste matches up with your bestie or your boo by creating a collaborative or blend playlist. Turn your playlist into a collaborative playlist, share the link with your friend, and they can add songs to that playlist. To create a blend playlist, search “Blend” and share the link. When your friend clicks the link, Spotify will create a blend playlist with some of your mutually liked songs, artists, and genres.
Daily Drive and Daily Wellness
Don’t get bored on your commute or long drive. Spotify’s Daily Drive makes a playlist of music you like, news, audio stories, and more for you to listen to. If you’re interested in self-improvement or personal wellness, check out your customized Daily Wellness playlist. The Daily Wellness playlist gives you meditations, relaxing music, and wellness tips.
Release Radar and Discover Weekly
When you’ve been jamming to those same four songs on repeat and you’re starting to get bored of them, check out your personalized Release Radar and Discover Weekly playlists. These playlists are updated once per week. Release Radar shows new songs released by artists you listen to, and Discover Weekly shows you new music that the app thinks you may like. These features are a great way to keep up with your favorite artists and discover new music.
Time Capsule
Spotify keeps in mind those songs you used to love and then forgot about. Check out your Time Capsule playlist to rediscover those gems you were once obsessed with.
Playlists From Your Favorite Celebrities
One great aspect of Spotify is the social one. You can see what your friends are listening to, and you can even see what your favorite celebs are listening to. For example, check out these playlists made by Bella Thorne, The Weeknd, Ashton Kutcher, and Kendrick Lamar.
