Social Media Reacts To The SAG Awards!

The final major televised Award Show before the Oscars has happened! We have the best of what Social Media had to say about the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The final stretch of Awards season has begun, as we are merely two weeks away from the Acadamy Awards! The 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards were just held on Sunday, February 26th, and they have majorly shaken up several races. From the fashion to the shocking winners, we have the best social media reactions!

As expected, the fashion was on point all night, but people especially loved Zendya and Paul Mescal.

A major highlight of the night was when Aubry Plaza and Jenna Ortega presented an award together, and their energy just matched too perfectly!

Screen legend and 80 for Brady star Sally Feild was also honored with a lifetime achievement award, and it was lovingly presented by her The Amazing Spider-Man co-star, Andrew Garfield.

Surprisingly, Angela Basset did not do the thing, as the night’s biggest surprise was Jamie Lee Curtis winning Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture. This was clearly a shocker, even just going off the reactions of the nominees.

Curtis wasn’t the only trophy that Everything Everywhere All At Once took home. A24 was the big winner of the night. The independent film disruptor won all five of the film acting awards. Four of which went to Everything Everywhere All At Once!

Key Huy Quan also made history as the first Asian American actor to win in his category.

This makes the film the most awarded film in SAG history!

When the film took home Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture, the biggest Award of the night, James Hong delivered an incredibly powerful speech about his long history in the industry and the importance of representation.

At this rate, Best Picture is Everything Everywhere All At Once’s to lose as the fan-favorite film has rightfully been sweeping this awards season.

One of the film’s directors took to Twitter to appreciate the moment.

It’s been a long road this Award Season, but we are nearing the finish line. Do you think Everything Everywhere All At Once will sweep the Oscars as it did the SAGs? Let us know on Twitter @AfterBuzzTV.
