Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are our first official couple of 2021! Let’s celebrate five other pairs that found love this last year.
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that love comes in all forms. Finding someone through the trials of lockdown, self isolation, and mask wearing can be hard. This is why we’re so overjoyed that these six couples have overcome all challenges to find happiness together.
Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde
Although this is technically a 2021 couple, this fresh faced pair met in the waning days of 2020. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but we can assume a romance was sparked during the production of Wilde’s upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling. This will be Styles’ second film role since his debut in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. He will play the mysterious husband to Florence Pugh’s trapped suburban housewife. As the film’s director, it makes sense that Wilde would strike up a close relationship with her actors. Rumors started flying when the duo was seen holding hands at the wedding of Harry’s manager Jeffrey Azoff. The Santa Barbara event only hosted sixteen people, and it was specifically limited to ensure everyone was taking Covid precautions. In fact, Harry himself officiated the wedding and took the opportunity to bring Wilde as his plus one.
Whether the two are just good friends or at the start of something new, we wish them the best of luck this year!
Chrishell Stause & Keo Motsepe
Another on set romance, but this time on a reality show Chrishell Stause of Selling Sunset fame took part in season twenty nine of Dancing with the Stars. The successful real estate agent formed a strong friendship with her dance partner Gleb Savchenko, but it was another professional dancer Keo Motsepe who caught her eye. As the first black professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, Keo has been a regular on the show since his initial appearance in season nineteen. Despite both parties being eliminated from the show in the earlier weeks, they were able to take things to the next level offscreen.
By mid December the couple made their relationship Instagram official. On Keo’s side, he posted an adorable photo of him kissing the broker on the cheek. Meanwhile, Chrishell shared a snap from a vacation the pair took recently and gushed about their love. Many people from the DWTS world showed their support in the comments. This included Chrishell’s dance partner and friend. Gleb Savchenko. The dance pro commented on Motsepe’s post, writing, “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love you guys!!!”
A$AP Rocky & Rihanna
It’s not often that celebrity couples stem from longtime friendships, but Rihanna proves herself to be the exception to every rule. The business mogul and world renowned artist has found love again after breaking up with her previous billionaire boyfriend, Hassan Jameel. On the eve of releasing her newest project, a skincare line based off her makeup brand, Rihanna posted promotional photos, including rapper A$AP Rocky. Shortly after this, there was talk that the pair had struck up a relationship.
Since then, Rocky and Rihanna have been inseparable and even took a cruise together in Barbados for Christmas Eve. Given that Barbados is Rihanna’s hometown, we can tell the relationship is getting serious. Especially since it’s been rumored that A$AP had spent the holidays with Rihanna’s family. The closest we’ve gotten to an official confirmation was a snap Rihanna posted to her Instagram three days ago. In the photo, she models a very specific Anima Muaddi X AWGE LSD Gladi Thigh High Heel, which was designed by Rocky. It seems to be any day now before we get a photo of the duo together.
Kaia Gerber & Jacob Elordi
The relationship between supermodel Kaia Gerber and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi began when all great celebrity love stories start at Nobu Malibu. Later on, they were seen out and about in New York City. Things got really serious around Halloween season when they decided to sport a couple’s costume. Jacob went as the King of Rock, Elvis Presley, while Kaia dressed as his wife, Priscilla. The sultry snaps the pair took instantly caught everyone’s eye. Further on in the month, they took part in a vacation to Los Cabos, Mexico, with Gerber’s parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.
Tiffany Haddish & Common
Comedian Tiffany Haddish and Academy Award winning rapper Common, like many of us, discovered love this year virtually. They had met on the set of 2019’s The Kitchen, but sparks didn’t start flying until the duo arranged a virtual Bumble date. By the summer of 2020, Haddish admitted to their relationship on Steve-O’s podcast, Steve-O’s Wild Ride. Shortly after, she made the bold decision to shave her head. Common was extremely supportive of his girlfriend, saying her new hairdo was beautiful. It was then revealed that they were self isolating together through the pandemic. Haddish joked that she and her new beau were twins now with their matching shaved heads. However, sadly the couple is in separate places now that Common is assisting with the vote effort for the Georgia Run-off Elections, and Tiffany is staying at home. Let’s hope that the pair can reunite soon!
Machine Gun Kelly & Megan Fox
Megan Fox called her new boyfriend, singer, rapper, and actor Machine Gun Kelly her twin flame. While guest starring on the Give Them Lala … With Randall podcast, hosted by Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent and her fiancé Emmett, the Jennifer Body star elaborated on her feelings.
“I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame,” she said. “Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we’re actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away.”
This instant connection occurred when Fox and Kelly met on the set Midnight in the Switchgrass. The production (which has since resumed) was halted due to the pandemic, but that didn’t stop the couple from seeking each other out further. It was made official when Machine Gun Kelly shared a black and white mirror picture with Megan on his Instagram.
Kelly has had a very busy year which included releasing an album, opening a coffee shop in Cleveland called 27 Club Coffee and several live performances. Megan has been by his side and supporting him through it all. When his latest single, Bloody Valentine, dropped on the radio, he posted a video of Megan dancing along to the song in the car.
Megan Fox even presented his performance at the 2020 AMAs. Wearing a kelly green dress, she said that all of us (including her) have been under his spell since his debut on the music scene. Machine Gun Kelly then captioned a photo of them together at the award show, “slept next to a shotgun til she came into my life.” This couple truly makes us believe in love.
