Shauna’s bio: I grew up in LA, moved to NYC for college, worked at a fashion house in Paris, and have written, assisted, styled and labored in the fashion world enough to know that there’s nothing epic about making a model look chic on a $10,000 budget. What’s more intriguing to me is the challenge of looking chic when buying this season’s must-have Little Black Dress just isn’t an option.
The way I see it, a budget is nothing more than a fun style challenge. I put together outfits on my blog using clothes from America’s biggest discount stores, to show that you can look stylish regardless of how much you have to spend! At the end of the day, what sounds better: spending your hard-earned cash on a dress you’ll only wear a few times, or on an unforgettable night out with loved ones?
With a few styling and shopping tips from yours truly (and Team Penny Chic!), you can look as chic as you want! And bonus: you’ll feel more confident knowing you’re in control because you don’t have to overspend to keep up with the trends.
The past few years have been a whirlwind. I’ve been incredibly lucky to receive amazing feedback in the press, and have gotten the opportunity to design a clothing line and write a style book (being published next year!). Women, like you, who “make it work” every day inspire me, and I can’t wait to take you along for the ride as Penny Chic continues to grow.
