The highly anticipated reimagining of SAVED BY THE BELL will premiere Wednesday, Nov. 25 on new streaming service Peacock TV
Saved By the Bell’s anticipated reboot finally has a premiere date!
In the new series, when California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can’t be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.
Elizabeth Berkley-Lauren and Mario Lopez star in the new series, reprising their legendary roles as Jessie Spano and A.C. Slater. John Michael Higgins also stars as Principal Toddman alongside the new class featuring Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden, Mitchell Hoog, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Josie Totah and my prediction of the breakout star, Haskiri Velazquez.
Tracey Wigfield is writer and executive producer, alongside executive producer Franco Bario. Peter Engel (Mr Saved By the Bell himself) also serves as executive producer. Saved By the Bell is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Head Writer of the Original series, Bennett Tramer, told me in a recent zoom interview,
“I’m so glad that people still care about Saved by the Bell, this keeps the brand alive and I wish everyone well!” Tramer also gave us the inside scoop that despite rumors she would be one of the only original cast members not making a cameo in the reboot, Lark Voorhies will indeed return
“I just heard today that Lark who played Lisa Turtle will be in at least one episode.”
As a product of 90s TV and a HUGE fan of Saved By the Bell, I am beyond excited for this reboot. Watch the teaser below and let us know what you think
