Rihanna Makes Women Feel Like the Only Girl in the World

Rihanna is most famous for her breathtaking singing performances, but, additionally has held a successful career as a businesswoman, starting multiple enterprises and pursuing various interests.

The superstar has founded numerous companies satisfying many ways to make women feel good. Her business empire includes fragrance, fashion, cosmetics, lingerie, and skincare lines, while simultaneously maintaining a stellar singing career through multiple franchises,  Rihanna has brought immense joy and a sense of empowerment to women worldwide!

Rihanna made her mark in the fragrance industry with the release of her first scent Reb’l Fleur in 2011. An intense composition of daring fruity and sophisticated floral notes, Reb’l Fleur reigned supreme earning gross $80 million from sales by the end of 2011. After her outstanding success with Reb’l Fleur, she launched several signature fragrances including Rebelle (2012), Nude (2012), Rogue (2013), Rogue Love (2014), Crush (2016), and Riri Kiss (2017). She diligently sought to create a collection of scents with a diverse array of scents to ensure that everyone can find a fragrance that suits them, and even launched her men’s cologne, Rogue by Men in 2015 broadening the scope of her fragrances to extend beyond women. Her most successful scent would be her vibrant and spicy scent, the Fenty Eau du Parfum initially released in 2021. After selling out in less than 24 hours, Rihanna relaunched the notable scent the following year where it swiftly sold out once again. While this scent is currently available for purchase, the success it garnered has fans itching for another fragrance line to be launched.

Rihanna’s premiere fashion line was a collaboration between her and Puma, launched in 2016. The Fenty X Puma line, which involves clothing and shoes, takes after Rihanna’s style, where femme fatale meets sportswear through a black-and-white color scheme. This collection debuted with a live-streamed show at the 2016 New York Fashion Week. Signature pieces from the line, including sneakers, graphic t-shirts, sheer and lace motifs, and cropped hoodies, were represented in the fashion show, with an impressive model lineup including Gigi and Bella Hadid. Creepers are the most noteworthy element of the Fenty X Puma collaboration, as Rihanna received “Shoe of the Year” by Footlocker for trendsetting footwear shortly after its release. Rihanna continues to collaborate with Puma, and last October, she announced her drop of the “Avanti” shoe featured in two colors, “Dark Myrtle” and “Club Navy.” The sensational shoe dropped last November and is available on puma.com and select retail stores priced from $80-$170!

In addition to her collaboration with Puma, Rihanna also held a two-year partnership with Louis Vuitton Möet Hennessy (LVMH) to collectively design a luxury clothing, shoe and accessories brand. The high-end fashion house invested a rather large sum of 30 million Euros into the partnership, emphasizing the brand’s confidence and excitement to work with a stylish superstar like Rihanna. This was an incredibly special moment for her career in fashion as she was the first woman of color to run an LVMH brand. This opportunity meant a great deal to the singer as she mentioned in a statement, “Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.”

Rihanna entered into the world of cosmetics in 2017 with her makeup brand, Fenty Beauty. She promoted inclusivity through the extensive range of skin tones and formulas created to suit all skin types through the “Fenty Face”. The Fenty look comprises various products within the line and is represented in her mission statement where she states that she wants her fans to “feel free to take chances, and take risks, and dare to do something new or different”. Rihanna’s primary mission with her cosmetics brand was to instill pride and joy within anyone using one of the products. Fenty Beauty is well known for the magnificent coverage its foundation provides. The latest release of the cosmetic brands’ one of a kind foundations, “Soft’Lit Naturally Luminous Longwear Foundation” was this past April. After years of perfecting her signature makeup look on and off stage, Rihanna developed this killer formula for the radiant foundation featured in 50 unique shades!

As an extension of the cosmetics line, Fenty Skin was established in 2020 with only three signature products. While this is a drastic difference from Fenty Beauty, the minimalist approach to creating Rihanna’s skincare is expressed by her belief that less is more. Fenty Skin constitutes three products that are vegan, oil-free, and eco-conscious, including the “Total Cleans’r Remove-It-All Cleanser,” “Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum” and “Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30”. The star wanted to focus on simplicity when designing the line as she sought to create one skincare routine for everyone. In an interview with British Vogue, Rihanna states, “Skincare, it is the truth. It either works or it does not. There is nowhere to hide,” noting the hard work she continues to put into perfecting the brand even four years after it was introduced.

Once again, Rihanna made her mark in fashion by launching her lingerie company, Savage X Fenty, in 2018. Its central mission is promoting body positivity. The company achieves this goal through the extensive range of sizes of its products, from XS to 3X. Additionally, the diverse styles allowed fans to find products that fit their own meanings of sexy. From the classic t-shirt bras to the lacy balconettes to the sheer, tiger-striped crotchless catsuit, Savage X Fenty’s vast array of designs has contributed mainly to the company’s ever-growing success. Recently, Rihanna released the “Signature Script” collection with a steamy montage of her photoshoot modeling a nude lace bodysuit. She envisioned the nudeness to create a more natural look, emphasizing the brand’s message of body positivity and women’s empowerment. Moreover, as we can see in Rihanna’s post, this is a trademark Savage X Fenty product you will need for your summer wardrobe!
