Prime Video’s Rings of Power Season 3 Confirmed

Middle-earth fans, rejoice! Prime Video has officially confirmed Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is in the works and set to begin filming this spring in the UK.

Alongside the exciting renewal, Prime Video also announced the directorial dream team for the upcoming season. Returning to helm the epic fantasy are Charlotte Brändström (The Witcher, Shōgun) and Sanaa Hamri (The Wheel of Time, Empire), while newcomer Stefan Schwartz (The Boys, The Walking Dead) joins the adventure.

With 170 million viewers worldwide and a record-breaking Prime Video debut, The Rings of Power remains one of Amazon’s biggest hits. “The creative team has an extraordinary vision of what’s to come,” teased Vernon Sanders, head of TV at Amazon MGM Studios.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power transports audiences to the legendary Second Age of Middle-earth, a time of epic heroes, rising and fallen kingdoms, and the forging of great powers. Set thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the series unravels a grand tale where hope teeters on the edge and Tolkien’s greatest villain threatens to engulf the world in darkness. Beginning in an era of fragile peace, an ensemble of both familiar and new characters must face the long-dreaded return of evil. From the Misty Mountains to the majestic elf capital of Lindon, from the island kingdom of Númenor to the farthest reaches of the map, the show explores breathtaking landscapes and the legacies of those who shaped Middle-earth’s fate.

Fans can expect more breathtaking battles, deep dives into Middle-earth’s legendary past, and the kind of cinematic spectacle that has made the show a global sensation. Season 3 is coming—are you ready?
