Diana Taurasi is getting the spotlight she deserves. Prime Video has officially greenlit Taurasi, a three-part docuseries tracing the legendary career of the women’s basketball icon. Slated to premiere later this summer, the series will dive deep into the life, legacy, and unrelenting drive of the WNBA’s most decorated star — from her championship-laden college days at UConn to her Olympic glory and globe-spanning professional career.

Prime Video is ready to tip off with one of the most anticipated sports documentaries of the year. The streaming giant has greenlit Taurasi, a three-part docuseries that charts the jaw-dropping rise of women’s basketball legend Diana Taurasi. Premiering exclusively on Prime Video later this summer in over 240 countries and territories, the series promises an intimate, unfiltered look at the fierce competitor who redefined greatness on the court.

From her beginnings at the University of Connecticut—where she helped lead the Huskies to three NCAA Championships—to dominating the WNBA with three league titles for the Phoenix Mercury, Taurasi’s résumé reads like a masterclass in winning. Add to that six Olympic gold medals and six Euroleague championships, and it’s clear why words like “Pioneer,” “Iconoclast,” and “G.O.A.T.” are used to describe her legacy.

Taurasi will go beyond the stats, offering an in-depth, personal portrait of an athlete whose story is as complex as it is compelling. Known for her unapologetic fire and loyalty to both teammates and family, Taurasi’s path has taken her from the bright lights of the WNBA to overseas stints in Russia and Turkey, facing scrutiny, sacrifice, and the pressure of constantly raising the bar.

The series features candid interviews with Taurasi herself, as well as her family, teammates, coaches, and journalists who have witnessed her journey firsthand. The result is a multifaceted profile — sometimes funny, often defiant, always powerful — of a woman whose authenticity has made her one of the most influential athletes of her generation.

Taurasi is directed by Katie Bender Wynn and executive produced by Jesse Sisgold, Jason Reed, and Jon Weinbach of Skydance Sports; John Skipper and Deirdre Fenton of Meadowlark Media; Lauren Greenfield and Frank Evers of Institute; and Kate Fagan and Katie Bender Wynn.

The series is produced by Skydance Sports, Meadowlark Media, and Institute, in association with Difficult Media, and is part of the growing slate of Prime Video Sports Originals.

Fans of greatness, mark your calendars. Taurasi arrives this summer — and it’s a must-watch.
