Prime Video is bringing another legendary Viking saga to the screen with Bloodaxe, a new historical drama from creators Michael and Horatio Hirst.
Bloodaxe follows the legendary Viking warrior Erik Bloodaxe and his formidable wife, Gunnhild, Mother of Kings, as they battle for the throne of Norway. In a world consumed by shifting loyalties, brutal betrayals, and all-out war, Erik and Gunnhild must outmaneuver their fiercest rivals—including the ruthless kings of Scandinavia and a powerful English ruler—to secure their rule.
Michael Hirst, best known for his work on Vikings and The Tudors, is thrilled to return to the world of Norse legends. “Horatio and I intend to open your eyes to incredible new characters and unbelievable stories, all of which happen to be true and many of which changed the course of history,” saidHirst.
