AFTERBUZZ TV – Pretty Little Liars edition, is a weekly “after show” for fans of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars. In this episode, hosts Whitney Lane and Stephanie Wenger break down the episode “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” in which no one knows where Spencer is. After questioning the girls on Spencer’s whereabouts and getting no answers, Melissa calls the police. Later, Melissa learns that Spencer is in Radley and goes to visit her. Melissa informs the girls that Spencer is okay and she’s in Radley. Spencer’s friends want to visit her but can’t when they discover she has been placed on a 72-hour hold for observation and evaluation. At Radley, Spencer befriends a male nurse. She notices the name on his badge, E. Lamb, is identical to Toby’s alias for Radley. E. Lamb tells Spencer that Radley has experienced a recent dilemma involving staff I.D. badges and visitor guest passes. Though he omits details, he explains that the dilemma was traced back to a Radley staff member. Meanwhile, Hanna sets up a coffee date for Ted and Ashley. Hanna winds up tagging along; however, when she and Ashley arrive at the church to meet Ted, they are shocked to be additionally greeted by Detective Wilden. Afterward, Ashley accepts an invitation to a seminar in New York, which may result in a promotion at work. Emily is surprised when Shana invites her to coffee, only to introduce her to Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin. Emily learns that Shana is also a swimmer, which Paige neglected to tell her. Ezra tells Aria that he wants to teach again so she turns to Byron for help. Byron meets with Ezra later to discuss potential teaching positions, which unfortunately does not include one at Hollis. Back at Radley, E. Lamb also tells Spencer that during her stay at Radley, Mona stayed in Spencer’s current room. During a flashback, Spencer recalls Ali making fun of Mona as the congregation sings, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” As they leave church, Spencer and Mona make eye contact and it appears that Spencer feels a bit of remorse. As Ali and Spencer walk away, she asks Ali about what she was writing in her diary during church. She tells Spencer that the diary entries are something Spencer will need “if [she’s] gonna carry on after [Ali is] gone.” Spencer asks why but Ali ignores the question and drags her to the bakery. Back at Rosewood High, Mona encounters the girls in the bathroom where Aria threatens her. A moment later, Aria is called to the principal’s office. During a brief interrogation there, Aria lies about her relationship with Ezra in order for him to be reinstated at Rosewood High. Later, Mona pays Spencer a visit in Radley and reminds her that she still has Ali’s diaries and offers Spencer a spot on the A Team for a second time (i.e., the first time was at the end of Season 2 episode 25 “unmAsked.”) Ashley says goodbye to Hanna and heads to New York for the seminar. As Ashley drives away, Wilden pulls up in his car. Hanna tells Wilden to go away but he demands to know where his car and keys are. Wilden promises not to bother Hanna and Ashley anymore as long as Hanna complies with his demand. During a group therapy session at Radley with Dr. Sullivan and other patients, Spencer recounts falling down in the woods and looking down at her hands. She concludes that her friends can no longer count on her and that they do not know who she is anymore. In the final scene, “A” drives off in an RV filled with pictures and news articles previously stored in the “A” Team lair. It’s Pretty Little Liars’ “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” podcast!
