AFTERBUZZ TV – Pretty Little Liars edition, is a weekly “after show” for fans of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars. In this episode, hosts Whitney Lane and Stephanie Wenger break down the episode “A dAngerous gAme” in which Spencer invites the girls to a soirée being held in her honor to celebrate her release from Radley. Hanna babysits Malcolm and he identifies “Alison” as Spencer. Emily comes across a house and finds Jenna, Shana, and Melissa conspiring something together. Aria breaks up with Ezra so that he can accept the position as a substitute teacher at Rosewood High. Spencer finds Toby and he learns that Spencer has joined the A Team and been helping Mona. When the girls realize that Spencer posed as Alison while kidnapping Malcolm, they determine she is part of the A Team and need to figure out whether she’s doing it to help them or go against them. Spencer and Toby reconcile once they determine that their involvements in the A Team were nothing more than a ruse to protect one another. At Emily’s swim meet, Spencer sees Red Coat entering the school. She follows her into the bathroom, only to find it is Hanna and that the girls tricked Spencer to see whether she knew Red Coat or not. Spencer comes clean about her involvements with Mona and that Toby is alive. Spencer also warns the girls that the party is a set-up but that they are one step ahead of “A” now and they may be able to end this. At the “soirée,” with Toby’s help, the girls successfully trap Mona inside the house. Meanwhile, Spencer and Toby leave the house and Spencer goes after Red Coat to determine her true identity, which is still unknown to everyone including the A Team members. While the girls corner Mona in the house, someone drops a lighter on a trail of gasoline leading to the house, setting it on fire. Mona reveals to the girls that she did not know Red Coat’s identity and planned on finding it out tonight. Spencer chases after Red Coat but loses track of her. Upon seeing a blaze of fire, Spencer rushes back to the house. Toby is knocked unconscious and someone drops a lighter next to his hand, framing him for starting the fire. Red Coat drags the girls including Mona out of the house. Red Coat bends over Hanna, and Red Coat is revealed to be Alison DiLaurentis. Mona tells the girls that she saw Red Coat and that Red Coat is Alison. Hanna and Spencer also confirm this, having caught a short glimpse of her as well. On the way back to Rosewood, the girls notice that Wilden’s car has been removed from Lake Rosewood and placed in front of the church. Inside the car, the video of the night Ashley ran over Wilden with her car plays. For the first time, we see in the video that Jenna and Shana removed Wilden’s body from the crime scene. The girls and Mona go over to the trunk of the car. First, they all receive a text in red font from “A,” which states “You’re mine now. Kisses -A” Then, the girls open the trunk of the car and in unison, immediately gasp at the sight of something that is not revealed to home viewers. The final scene of season three shows a hand (presumably Alison’s) reaching out from the dirt, just like at the end of episode “This is a Dark Ride.” However, we also see someone (in a red coat) trying to pull that person from out of the dirt.
