AFTERBUZZ TV – Pretty Little Liars edition, is a weekly “after show” for fans of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars. In this episode, host David Schifilliti breaks down the episode “If These Dolls Could Talk” in which Spencer dreams about having a conversation with Alison, who was digging through Jason’s bag for pain meds. Ali tells Spencer she’s sorry about not telling her that Jason was her brother too, and that she’s glad the girls “haven’t given up”. Ali also warns her not to miss what’s right in front of her. Spencer wakes up to see the side door has been open all night. She sees two prescription bottles, and wonders if it was only a dream. Maya sends Emily an angry text for telling her parents where she is. Ashley hears a phone ringing and finds out about Hanna’s secret phone Mona gave her and gives it back to Mona. Ezra tells Aria he’s worried about the fallout from him not taking the job Byron lined up for him. Jenna takes off the bandage covering her surgically repaired eye. It seems her surgery failed. Spencer finds out that Alison and “A” had been communicating via newspaper classified ads and were set to meet up. The girls decide to go to Brookhaven where the meeting was supposed to take place. Jenna and Toby approach them and she tells the girls her surgery failed. Jenna then apologizes and says she wants to move on. She goes on to say she’s never been the person they really needed to fear. Emily doesn’t buy it. Mona gets a text from A that says if she doesn’t break up Hanna and Caleb she’ll go back to being a loser. Aria finds an application for a boarding school in Vermont that Byron has left for Ella. The girls go to the doll store in Brookhaven. They meet the owner, Martha. They ask if anyone had ever bought a voodoo doll (like the one Alison received from “A”), but Martha says they don’t sell them. They speak with a boy named Seth, who knows more than it seems. He says that Alison was in the store a year ago looking for a voodoo doll. He warned her against it, since a man and woman with dark hair were trying to hurt her. Later, Spencer tells the girls about Jason being her brother, and the girls think Melissa killed Alison. Aria mentions the application to Ella. Ella says she’s considering it because of “A”. Aria hints at hurting Byron’s career by revealing his past affair with Meredith. Melissa asks about the bag she found in Spencer’s room. Spencer then shows her the video of her coming into Alison’s room and asks her to explain what happened. She reveals their parents’ suspicions about her. Spencer says she thinks the police need to see the video, but Melissa threatens her with videos of her own. Ella tells Aria the boarding school idea has been put aside for the moment. She says Aria’s threat shook up the family. Hanna’s plan to uncover Melissa as “A” has Mona and Caleb make out in Mona’s car, just as Melissa walks out of a building. Hanna immediately gets an “A” text about it. The girls want to alert the police. They stop by the doll store on the way to the police station. Ezra has been fired by Byron. Jenna shows Toby the missing page from Alison’s autopsy report, which she got from Garrett. Jenna thinks the police should have it, so they go to the station. Hanna, Spencer and Emily find the doll store empty, but find that Martha lied about the dolls she sells as there is a whole box of voodoo dolls. The lights go out and a doll’s voice begins chanting “Follow me, end up like me”. They find a bloody blonde doll resembling Alison. Items crash everywhere as they escape. Ezra and Aria have a conversation about what he has to do with his life, and then have what they think will be goodbye sex. Melissa and Garrett arey in the kitchen when she assures him Spencer didn’t turn in the video. Two officers come to place Garrett under arrest for Alison’s murder. Jenna, who everyone believes still can’t see, manages to kill a fly with perfect aim. In the final scene, Martha tells “A” that while she kept her deal, the mess “A” left in the store went too far. “A” bribes Martha with an envelope of cash and Seth, the boy who gave the girls false information about Alison, with candy. There to help David are co-hosts Pat Lambert and Grace Dietrich. It’s Pretty Little Liars’ “If These Dolls Could Talk” podcast!
