Peacock drops official trailer for Season 2 of Rian Johnson’s Poker Face, starring Natasha Lyonne and a dizzying lineup of guest stars.
She’s back on her bullshit—and she’s not bluffing. Peacock has officially unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for Season 2 of its Emmy Award-winning original series Poker Face, created by Rian Johnson and starring Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne. The new season premieres exclusively on Peacock on May 8, kicking off with three episodes followed by weekly releases every Thursday.
Charlie Cale’s lie-detecting road trip continues with a dozen new episodes, taking viewers through an eccentric patchwork of small-town America. This season, Charlie’s murder-solving escapades bring her everywhere from minor league ballparks to funeral homes, alligator farms, and even a chaotic grade school talent show. Through it all, she maintains her deadpan wit, sharp instincts, and knack for sniffing out lies, one mystery at a time.
According to a joint statement from Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne, the new season amps up its stylistic flair by pulling inspiration from the gritty aesthetic of 1970s American cinema. They cite filmmakers like Robert Altman and Peter Bogdanovich, while staying rooted in the episodic storytelling of TV classics like Columbo, The Rockford Files, and Quantum Leap. Each episode acts as a standalone mini-movie with its own tone, setting, and star-studded guest cast.
And that guest cast? Absolutely stacked. Season 2 features appearances from Cynthia Erivo, Awkwafina, Kumail Nanjiani, Method Man, John Mulaney, Katie Holmes, Giancarlo Esposito, Melanie Lynskey, and Justin Theroux, to name just a few. The creators describe it as a “gonzo parade” of talent—an eclectic mix of characters who dive headfirst into the game with joy and theatrical flair.
Additional guest stars include Adrienne C. Moore, Alia Shawkat, Ben Marshall, B.J. Novak, Carol Kane, Corey Hawkins, David Alan Grier, David Krumholtz, GaTa, Ego Nwodim, Gaby Hoffmann, Geraldine Viswanathan, Haley Joel Osment, Jason Ritter, John Cho, Kathrine Narducci, Kevin Corrigan, Lauren Tom, Lili Taylor, Margo Martindale, Natasha Leggero, Patti Harrison, Rhea Perlman, Richard Kind, Sam Richardson, Sherry Cola, Simon Helberg, Simon Rex, and Taylor Schilling.
Poker Face debuted to critical acclaim, earning four Primetime Emmy nominations including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Natasha Lyonne, and securing Peacock’s first Emmy win thanks to Judith Light’s standout guest appearance.
Behind the scenes, the series is brought to life by Rian Johnson as creator, writer, director, and executive producer. Natasha Lyonne also serves as executive producer, director, writer, and of course, star. Additional executive producers include Tony Tost (who also serves as showrunner), Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, and Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. Poker Face is produced by T-Street and Animal Pictures in association with MRC.
