AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Timothy Michael interviews Pete Mills.
The Sweet Kill tested its repertoire over seas in festivals and clubs throughout England and Russia. Returning to Los Angeles, Pete assembled a team to record the material including co-producer Voli (Bebe Rexha, J Cole), engineer/mixer Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Marilyn Manson, NIN), drummer Darren King (Mute Math, Kanye West) and mastering by Dave Kutch (The Weeknd, Jay-Z), as well as songwriters Thomas Anselmi (Dave Gahan, Slow) and Rome Da Luce. The debut single “Die In Your Eyes” is a melodic black-hearted dirge clawing away at the strings of the soul.
Before The Sweet Kill, Pete was a member of the infamous Canadian Glam band, Flash Bastard who went from rags to riches signing with Nikki Sixx’s label. Gaining notoriety by getting thrown off the Motley Crue tour mid way through, Pete ran the music industry’s gauntlet within the major record label Vortex. Eventually moving to Los Angeles, Pete joined Soulkid1 signed to DreamWorks/Universal. Pete co–produced the hit song “We Got More Bounce In California” with Michael Patterson (Trent Reznor, She Wants Revenge). This got the attention of the local labels and Pete transitioned to the recording studio producing music for a myriad of artists including Sheryl Crow, Moving Units, Teddy Riley, Bobby Brown and Russia’s Mumiy Troll. However, The Sweet Kill currently codifies Pete’s creative muse giving him solace in a divided country as the volatile Hollywood climate escalates.
