Peacock Sets Streaming Dates For Black Bag And Love Hurts

Peacock has announced exclusive May streaming debuts for Steven Soderbergh’s Black Bag and the action-comedy Love Hurts from 87North.

Peacock is kicking off May with a pair of high-profile streaming debuts, offering subscribers exclusive access to two buzzworthy films from Universal Pictures and Focus Features. First up is the sleek spy thriller Black Bag, which premieres May 2. Just one week later, the action-packed comedy Love Hurts lands on the platform May 9.

Black Bag, directed by Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh, has already made waves with critics and is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The film stars Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender as legendary intelligence agents and spouses, Kathryn and George Woodhouse. When suspicions arise that Kathryn may be betraying her country, George faces an agonizing choice between loyalty to his nation or to the woman he loves. The cast also includes Pierce Brosnan, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, and Tom Burke. The 93-minute thriller is written by David Koepp, who also serves as executive producer alongside Casey Silver and Gregory Jacobs.

Following the espionage drama, Peacock gets a dose of adrenaline-fueled comedy on May 9 with Love Hurts. This high-energy feature marks the directorial debut of award-winning stunt designer Jonathan Eusebio, and comes from the team behind Nobody and Bullet Train at 87North. The film stars Ke Huy Quan as Marvin, a reformed criminal now living quietly in suburban Milwaukee as a realtor. But when his former partner and ex-lover Rose (played by Ariana DeBose) resurfaces to seek vengeance against Marvin’s ruthless crime boss brother Knuckles (played by Daniel Wu), his peaceful life explodes into chaos. The 83-minute film also features Mustafa Shakir, Lio Tipton, Cam Gigandet, Sean Astin, and Marshawn “Beastmode” Lynch.

As Peacock continues to position itself as a go-to destination for major movie premieres, these new titles join a growing slate of first-run Universal content. In 2025, the platform will also exclusively debut anticipated releases like The Wild Robot, Wicked, How to Train Your Dragon, Jurassic World Rebirth, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, Nobody 2, The Bad Guys 2, and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, which already made its U.S. debut as a Peacock Original this past Valentine’s Day.
