Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson Bond in A24 Friendship Trailer

A24 has unveiled the trailer for Friendship, an offbeat comedy starring Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson, where forced companionship takes a hilariously disastrous turn.

The new A24 film, written and directed by Andrew DeYoung, Friendship follows Craig (Tim Robinson) as he desperately tries to form a bond with his neighbor, Austin (Paul Rudd). However, as their interactions grow increasingly uncomfortable, it becomes clear that not all friendships are meant to be.

The trailer teases moments of cringeworthy humor, including Austin bluntly shutting Craig down with, “I don’t wish to continue this friendship.” Meanwhile, Craig wrestles with his own feelings, lamenting, “You all accepted me way too fast. You can’t do that.”

The film boasts a strong supporting cast, including Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, Josh Segarra, and Billy Bryk. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness lineup on September 8, 2024, and is set to hit theaters this May.

Produced by Johnny Holland, J.D. Lifshitz, Raphael Margules, and Nick Weidenfeld, Friendship promises an absurd yet relatable take on the struggles of social connection—one uncomfortable moment at a time.
