Pamela Bach, actress and former wife of Baywatch icon David Hasselhoff, was found dead in her Hollywood home on Wednesday. She was 62.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed on Thursday that Pamela Bach died by suicide, with a gunshot wound to the head listed as the cause of death. Authorities responded to a death investigation at her residence on the 3400 block of Troy Drive at approximately 10 p.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to TMZ.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” David Hasselhoff said in a statement. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
Pamela Bach’s daughter, Hayley Amber Hasselhoff, 32, paid tribute to her mother by sharing a nostalgic photo of her parents on her Instagram story, adding a white heart emoji.
Born on October 16, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Pamela Bach had a successful television career spanning multiple decades. She appeared in popular series such as The Young and the Restless, Otherworld, The Fall Guy, T.J. Hooker, Superboy, and Viper. Her connection with David Hasselhoff began on the set of his hit series Knight Rider. The couple married in 1989 and later shared the screen in Baywatch, where Pamela Bach played multiple characters in 14 episodes between 1991 and 2000.
Despite her marriage to David Hasselhoff, Pamela Bach insisted that she secured her Baywatch roles based on her own merit. “I know inside myself that I cannot negate the fact that I know my lines, I’m always on time, I’m very professional and never pull any weight on the set,” she said in a 1989 interview. “In fact, I go the opposite to make people feel more comfortable. I rely on my own laurels.”
Pamela Bach and David Hasselhoff welcomed two daughters, Taylor in 1990 and Hayley Amber in 1992. The couple divorced in 2006 after nearly two decades of marriage.
In her final Instagram post, Pamela Bach shared a hopeful message about the future, expressing excitement for 2025 and gratitude for her granddaughter, London. “Watching her grow and seeing her smile light up my world is truly the greatest blessing,” she wrote. “Here’s to a year of making cherished memories, spreading joy, and embracing every precious moment!”
As the entertainment industry mourns the loss of Pamela Bach, fans and loved ones remember her as a dedicated actress, loving mother, and cherished friend.
