Adele’s sophomore album, 21, was released 10 years ago today in the UK! It features hits like “Rolling in the Deep,” “Set Fire to the Rain,” and “Someone Like You.” Adele posted on Instagram thanking her “old friend.”
To celebrate, here are our top 10 Adele moments since the debut of 21!
Performance at Royal Albert Hall
After the release of 21, Adele gave an amazing concert at Royal Albert Hall, that featured a stunning performance of “Someone Like You.” She talks about how the song changed her life and still changes her life each time she sings it. Watch her performance of the song here!
Iconic Grammy Photos
In 2012, Adele swept the Grammys! She received six nominations and won all of them, which resulted in the iconic photo of her struggling to hold them graced the internet, launching several memes.
Golden Globe Awards
Adele received a Golden Globe in 2013 for the song “Skyfall.” She cracked up fans and stars alike with her starstruck tweets and acceptance speech saying she simply came “for a night out with [her] friend Ida” following her new status as a mom.
Undercover Adele
No one can say Adele can’t act after this performance! In 2015, Adele impersonated an Adele impersonator for a BBC prank! Donning a fake chin and nose, she successfully fools the other impersonators, only to shock them when she gives a powerful performance of one of her own songs.
Carpool Karaoke
Adele guest-starred on a popular segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden called Carpool Karaoke. The duo drove around singing and rapping popular songs and cracking jokes that delighted fans of the singer.
Photobombing Fans
Up to more mischief, Adele photobombed unknowing fans who were taking photos with her “Skyfall” oscar. With the help of Graham Norton, the singer posed with props behind fans before revealing herself with a melodic “Hello.”
Giving the Suits the Middle Finger
Fans will remember Adele’s 21 winning Best Album at the BRIT awards, and they’ll also remember her acceptance speech being interrupted, leading her to give “the suits” a middle finger! Listen to her talk about it here.
Tribute to Beyoncé
Adele has made her love and respect for Beyoncé clear in the past. She’s posted praise on Instagram and is known to talk about her during concerts! But when she won the best album at the 59th Annual Grammys, she gave a touching dedication to Beyoncé and her visual album, Lemonade. Watch her acceptance speech here!
Officiated a Wedding

In January of 2018, Adele officiated the wedding of her long-time friend Alan Carr. She commemorated the event on Instagram four months later, saying she “married two of her best friends.”
SNL Monologue
Most recently, after being the musical guest in both 2008 and 2015, Adele hosted SNL in 2020! Her monologue was chock full of jokes referring to the future of her career, recent weight loss, and previous appearances on the show. Check it out here!
