The 2025 Academy Awards brought some expected victories and a few surprises, with Sean Baker’s Anora emerging as the biggest winner of the night. The film not only secured Best Picture but also earned Sean Baker the Best Director award and Mikey Madison the Best Actress honor for her performance.
Among other major wins, Adrien Brody took home the Best Actor Oscar for The Brutalist, while Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña won in the Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories, respectively.
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two made an impact in technical categories, taking home awards for Sound and Visual Effects, while Wicked secured victories in Costume Design and Production Design. Flow won Best Animated Feature, and No Other Land triumphed in the Best Documentary Feature category.
