AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Amy Cassandra interviews O’Neill Hudson.
O’neill Hudson is the moniker of LA-based artist Paris Carney. Her debut single for the project, “Lucky” was released in the summer of 2017 (https://tinyurl.com/yadsgnhs). Huffington Post raved the song as “hitting the jackpot” and it received quite a bit of celeb love – some of the people that posted on socials about the song include Sophie Turner, Bridgit Mendler, Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Danielle Panabaker, Victoria Justice and Ashley Greene. Her latest song “I’m All You” features Johnny Hanson who also co-wrote and produced the track.
Describing her sound as “romantic indie-rock,” Hudson draws inspiration from songwriters like Jeff Buckley and Joni Mitchell, her music leans heavily on organic instrumentation performed live in studio, accompanied by deeply personal lyrics that dive into love, loneliness and vulnerability.
In addition to her artistry, Hudson is also an accomplished pop songwriter, having written with artists like Nick Jonas, Victoria Justice and Landon Pigg, as well as having scored for television shows. In 2014 “Need You Right Now,” a song she co-wrote for Bethany Mota, reached #3 on iTunes Top Songs chart. This spring she will be featured on Bea Miller’s newest album via Hollywood Records on a song they co-wrote together. Whether she’s writing with other artists or releasing music on her own, her unique take on songwriting is connecting with fans all over the world.
