‘One Night Only: Best of Broadway’ Review & Reactions

NBC just debuted their Broadway special One Night Only, and it gave theater lovers a taste of what they’ve been missing these past 9 months.

The special incorporated live performances from certain Broadway shows, including Jersey Boys, Chicago, Jagged Little Pill, Ain’t Too Proud, Mean Girls, and more. The event was also hosted by the writer of the Mean Girls musical and Broadway enthusiast Tina Fey.

We also got zoomed in on Broadway superstars such as Nathan Lane, Leslie Odem Jr., Sutton Foster, and more as they urged people to donate if they can. A major part of the special was to help raise money and funds, via Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, for the workers and performers of Broadway who have been without a job.

The performances were amazing, but the real tear-jerking moments were watching the performers talk about what Broadway means to them and what it felt like to have it torn away, some even on their opening night or Broadway debut.

We hope we get to see more televised Broadway performances in lieu of the live shows.
