Grammy-nominated pop star Olivia Rodrigo has taken the world by storm the past few years. Here are a few of our favorite live performances to prepare you for her upcoming Sour Tour!
If you’ve been paying attention in the entertainment world recently, you’ve probably heard the name, Olivia Rodrigo. The 18-year-old High School Musical The Musical The Series star released her debut album, Sour, in 2021 which accumulated over 300 million streams. The album features singles such as “Driver’s License”, “Good 4 U”, and “Deja Vu”, and earned her 7 Grammy Nominations.
Due to the pandemic, we haven’t seen artists doing many live performances the past two years, whether that’s on TV or on tour, but are finally starting to see them come back. In preparation for Rodrigo’s first-ever tour, we are breaking down our favorite live performances of hers.
Starting off with our favorite live performance of them all, it’s “Favorite Crime” which was performed on a rooftop.
This performance is so well done, from the visuals to the vocals to the stripped-down guitar, we can’t get enough. Excited to hear this heartbreaking song on tour for the first time.
Of course, we have to include Rodrigo’s SNL debut performance. The singer started with “Driver’s License”, a song that was featured in a skit on the show weeks prior. It only seemed fitting for her to come on and sing it herself!
Rodrigo’s first-ever live show took place at 2021’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in September. The singer kicked off her set with “Brutal”, followed by 4 other fan favorites off of her album, Sour. The rock side of her album really shone through with this performance, and we can only wonder what direction she will take her upcoming tour!
This AMA’s performance of heart-breaker “Traitor” is another of our favorite performances by Olivia. This song has skyrocketed in success from both Tik Tok and simply becoming a relatable song for fans. We are dying to see this one sung live over and over next year!
Plus, playing the AMA’s at 18 years old? Hats off to her!
Another must-have on this list is “Sour Prom”, Rodrigo’s concert film which followed the release of her album. This gave fans the full experience of watching their new favorite tracks being performed alongside some amazing visuals. This was a unique and well-executed idea that provided some strongly desired content for fans.
More recently, the actress/pop star took on the “Tiny Desk Concert” performance at an actual DMV, and we can’t get enough of it.
Finally, we can’t talk about live performances without including this legendary one. Olivia performed “Driver’s License” at the 2021 Brit Awards and wowed us all with her stunning vocals, along with her gorgeous red dress. It doesn’t get better than this, so if you need something to listen to while you cry in the shower… this is it!
Olivia Rodrigo has taken over the music industry these past two years, and we couldn’t be more impressed with her. From releasing her first album to announcing her first tour to being nominated for 7 Grammys, this girl is one of the biggest names in the biz. We can’t wait to get more live performances from her and look forward to the start of her tour in 2022!
