Netflix and Love Is Blind Star Carlton Morton Shares A Sweet Message To Ex-Boyfriend and Star Of Rupaul’s Drag Race Chi Chi DeVayne
Whether it’s at a social gathering, through mutual friends, or in a pod, we’ve all been fortunate to meet people who have changed our lives. Although we would love to experience them for an entire lifetime, nothing lasts forever. Recently, Love Is Blind cast member Carlton Morton mourned the passing of his ex-boyfriend and dear friend Zavion “Chi Chi DeVayne” Davenport.
As he searched for a future wife while filming the hit Netflix series, Morton shared that he is bisexual. His honesty stirred up many conversations on social media about the stigmas bisexual men face. After having a very tough breakthrough on a global series, his time was cut short and viewers weren’t able to learn more about Morton. In light of recent tragic news, Carlton revealed that he was romantically involved with Rupaul’s Drag Race’s Zavion Davenport who performed under the stage name Chi Chi DeVayne. As the saddening news broke about Davenport’s untimely death, Morton took to Instagram to remember the times they shared. While posting pictures of the two, Morton wrote a heart-felt message about the love and support they had for one another even after they broke up.
“When we were in our early twenties, we traveled to Paris for my birthday and promised we’d travel the world once we “make it”,” Morton said on Instagram. “You “made it” and didn’t forget me. You helped me through so much depression and anxiety. I hate that my biggest nightmare has come true. I will miss you so much and I’ll end this caption now bc I am out of words. This shit hurts bruh. I love you and I’m glad you and I both said that in our last phone convo. Above anything else, you were one of my BEST friends EVER.”
Davenport competed in RuPaul’s Drag Race on Season 8 and Season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. Davenport’s southern charm, loving spirit, and energetic performances stole the hearts of viewers across the world. Following his success, the star was able to travel the world and brought Morton along for the ride. Drag super star and host of the show RuPaul, shared some words after finding out the news.
“I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of Chi Chi DeVayne. I am so grateful that we got to experience her kind of beautiful soul. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. May her generous and love spirit shine down on us all,” he said.
