Nehemiah Clark Talks Friendships On The Challenge

Challenge champ Nehemiah Clark discusses friendships on The Challenge, plus the main difference between The Challenge All-Stars and the flagship series.

Since 1998, many Challengers have come forth with one goal in mind. Battle it out to claim the title of Challenge champ, but only a select few have achieved this feat.

Nehemiah Clark is one of them, and now he’s back for the 40th season in hopes of earning the title yet again.

The Real World Austin alum talked with MTV’s The Challenge Weekly about friends in the game and the difference between the flagship series and The Challenge: All-Stars.

After some time away from the flagship series, Nehemiah Clark has made his return, although he competed on The Challenge: All-Stars, he says Battle Of The Eras is a completely different ball game.

“It’s like college versus the professionals. In college, when it’s off-season half of the people are going to go home, they’re going to stop working out, they’re going to be with their families, and they’ll go back to college when it’s time… With the pros, you have people who never turn it off, and they’re training even in the off-season”.

Not only does one’s physical ability play a big part in doing well on The Challenge, but the social part of the game weighs heavy as well. One person Nehemiah Clark has aligned himself with this season is Cory Wharton, where both players have maintained their friendship outside of the game.

Cory and I really started to hit it off and develop a friendship. I think in this game you meet show friends, and then you’ll get off the show and you all were tight on the show, but now you don’t really talk outside, so that happens often in the game. Sometimes you’re never sure what it’s going to turn into, but we still text. I just texted him today… we still talk.”

Nehemiah Clark has been in many eliminations throughout his time on the series and has proven himself on many accounts, but when it comes to his gameplay, he wants to avoid going into the sand at all costs.

“I’m trying to stay out of the sand, that’s the name of the game, the name of the game is not going in the sand. There are so many things that can go wrong between you injuring yourself, and the way the game is, you do not want to go in the sand. However, besides winning, there’s no feeling better than winning in the sand… yeah you don’t want to go in, but when you win, it feels like winning the Super Bowl.”
