Marvel Rivals Season 2 Adds Emma Frost and New Map

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is live with Emma Frost, Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map, revamped ranked system, and Battle Pass loaded with X-Men skins.

Marvel Rivals has officially kicked off Season 2, and it’s a major power play. The new season launched on April 11, bringing with it a slew of game-changing updates—most notably, the debut of Emma Frost, a formidable Vanguard hero. Alongside her arrival is the all-new Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map, sweeping changes to Ranked play, and a mutant-packed Battle Pass featuring fresh skins for fan favorites like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Cloak and Dagger. With a revamp to Competitive Mode and an X-Men-themed narrative, this might be the game’s most ambitious season yet.

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is finally here—and it’s looking like a full-on evolution for the popular team-based superhero shooter. Players can now dive into a wealth of new content, led by the highly anticipated debut of Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen. She’s classified as a Vanguard and brings devastating crowd control abilities to the battlefield. Her diamond form makes her hard to bring down, while her Ultimate forces enemies to walk toward her—perfect for causing chaos near environmental hazards.

Season 2 launched on April 11, rolling out globally with new gameplay elements, fresh cosmetics, and key system overhauls. The biggest addition? The Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map, a lush, mutant-inspired battlefield that shakes up the rotation. Yggsgard: Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya are being retired from Ranked play, making room for this new, stylish Domination map to enter the Competitive pool.

If you’re into Ranked play, there’s a lot to keep up with. The system has undergone a major rework: all players have been dropped nine divisions as part of a global rank reset. Now, individual performance plays a bigger role in how many points you gain or lose per match, shifting away from pure win/loss results. Also new this season—Hero bans are now part of the Gold tier and above, adding a fresh layer of strategy to team comps.

And yes, there’s a shiny new Battle Pass to obsess over. Titled Flower of Krakoa, it’s packed with 10 new skins, including standout costumes for Iron Fist, Star-Lord, Hulk, Rocket, and more. X-Men fans will be thrilled to see classic looks for Psylocke and Magik, complete with their iconic blue and yellow designs. Players who climb to Gold tier this season can also unlock an exclusive Emma Frost skin.

Beyond cosmetics and map shifts, Season 2 introduces a season event called Cerebro Database, as well as a mission system revamp to streamline how players progress and earn rewards. These regular updates are exactly why Marvel Rivals continues to earn a spot on best PC and best free-to-play games lists.

After clocking over 100 hours in the first season, dedicated players are already strategizing around Emma Frost’s powerful toolkit and exploring new team dynamics on the Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map. Between the mutant-themed narrative push and the competitive revamp, Marvel Rivals Season 2 is shaping up to be its most exciting chapter yet.
