The Challenge’s Laurel Stucky reveals everything including what cameras did not show between her and Michele Fitzgerald, the deal Johnny Bananas made that caused her to give him one karma point, plus why she almost was not a part of season 40.
Since making her debut on The Challenge: Fresh Meat ll, Laurel Stucky has continued to dominate the game, not only has she won two seasons, but The Challenge champ has also made it to multiple finals, making a name for herself as one of the best competitors to play.
Laurel Stucky talked with MTV’s The Challenge Weekly about why she almost declined to be on season 40, what cameras did not show between her and Michele Fitzgerald, and the deal Johnny Bananas made that caused her to give him one karma point.
Fresh off her win on The Challenge: All Stars, Laurel Stucky returned to participate in one of the most iconic seasons yet of The Challenge, Battle Of The Eras. However, the two-time winner almost declined when she was asked to be on season 40.
“I wasn’t going to do it. I had just won All-Stars 4 and 250 thousand dollars had dropped into my bank account… I was telling the producers I’m not greedy, I have everything that I possibly need, and I don’t need to go on The Challenge for money… When I won my second Challenge I was like, I have every single thing that I could ask for in this world, why would I go back when I just got done, someone else can win.”

In the end, Laurel Stucky decided to be a part of the cast, and as usual, she made sure to dominate. Off the field, cameras caught her rivalry with Michele Fitzgerald, but there were key moments between the two Challengers that did not make it on air.
“Even though they chose to only show that tense moment between me and Michele, Michele and I came to such a good place after the show. A few days later after we had our conversation, I went and had another conversation with her, we had so many conversations that were not shown on the show because it’s not the Real World, but I’m happy with how I left the season with her, and I’m super proud of her for coming on a show that was foreign to her and now she’s in the final.”
Laurel Stucky’s final moments on season 40 ended with a bang when she decided to give Johnny Bananas one karma point. She did this after finding out about a gameplay move he made.
“I got a chance to see how good Johnny Bananas is at the game… Every day I would wake up and he would tell me everything. One of the things he did not tell me that I found out through other people was that Johnny has a podcast and he was allowed to film one of his episodes of his podcast while we were on site… I heard he did the podcast with Cara Maria and that all she did was trash me in the interview, so I was a little pissed off about that, but I was also pissed off because of the deal that they made for him to get her on the podcast. Basically what was said was he can’t vote her in. In my eyes if he can’t vote her in, that means he’s going to vote me in, so I saw an end to us working together, and as a result when I had the opportunity at the very end to give him points I took that as he was not working with me, and I gave him one point.. I told him that immediately after we came off the show.”

Although Laurel Stucky’s time on Season 40 has come to an end, The Challenge champ is still keeping busy by living her life to the fullest and giving back to the community.
“There are some things I have planned for the New Year. One of the insults that a cast member had said to me was that “I’m homeless”, so I got together with some of my followers and we are organizing an event where we all get together and do a meet and greet where we are essentially raising money for the homeless population within Florida… The only thing I want to do is give back all the things that I feel were given to me to be successful.”
