AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Nick Mardi interviews Kelsey Leon.
Kelsey Leon was most recently seen on Latin Grammy Winner Nicky Jam’s music video ‘El Amante’ (Directed by Jessy Terrero) which has amassed over 725 Million YouTube views in the United States alone. She was also a principal in the Nintendo Switch ‘Just Dance’ commercial (Directed by Anthony Chirco and Eric Ro).
Kelsey has formal acting training with Brooke Byler, Kaley Hummel, Celeste Pechous, and Andrew Magarian. She has also had singing training with Jessica Cabral and Jennifer Dustman. She started her performance career as a dancer with over 12 years experience while training with the top choreographers in the industry including Tessandra Chavez, Matt Steffanina, Rudy Abreu, and many more influential artists.
As Kelsey transitioned her focus to acting over the last six months, she can be seen on several shows including playing Mindy on ‘Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn (Nickelodeon)’, ‘The Thundermans (Nickelodeon)’, ‘How to Get Away with Murder (ABC)’, ‘Fuller House (Netflix)’, and ‘Just Add Magic (Amazon Prime)’. She has also performed as a dancer on stage for ‘Boys of Summer 2016 Tour (Johnny Orlando)’, ‘Xmas Around the World’, as well as dancing with Tessandra Chavez’s’ ‘Unity Dance Ensemble’.
Kelsey is very athletic. She was a two time overall national champion soloist dancer with seven category National Championships (4 Jazz, 2 Lyrical, 1 Contemporary) and she has also recently started kickboxing. She is an enthusiastic social media participant and represents many fashion brands. Kelsey is excited to grow her career in film and television.
