Halsey is set to make her acting debut in ‘The Players Table’ with ‘Euphoria’ star Sydney Sweeney
Halsey, who rose to fame over the last several years in the music industry, is now making the leap to acting. The singer is set to star alongside Sydney Sweeney in The Players Table.
Now this isn’t Halsey’s first time acting, she has previously hosted SNL last year and starred in a few skits throughout the show. She was keeping up with the actors and had everyone laughing throughout the show!
This is not Halsey and Sydney’s first time sharing the screen together! Fun fact Sydney was the lead in Halsey’s “Graveyard” music video and we can’t help but notice that their on screen chemistry was electric! We can only imagine what The Players Table has in store for us and their chemistry.
Sweeney is known for her role of Cassie Howard in the popular HBO show Euphoria. In this role she brought something to the small screen that we haven’t ever seen before. With her acting she showed us her characters’ vulnerabilities and feeling peer pressure to fit in (especially when it comes to dating guys). Euphoria dramatized the version of the ‘bad’ kids of high school. The way Sweeney brought her character to life and the difficult situations Cassie faced, shows us how talented of an actress she is.
It is going to be exciting to see her in a completely different role in The Players Table, even though she will still be a high school student, her character will be trying to figure out who killed her friend.
In a recent interview Sweeney mentions how she is excited to work alongside Halsey.
“So excited to star alongside such a talented creative genius. Can’t think of anyone I’d rather do this with.”
Halsey will play Rachel Calloway, which Deadline says is a formidable, emotionally troubled young woman who ignites Sydney’s character’s journey to find out the truth about her friend’s murder.
Halsey will also be a producer on the TV series, alongside some of her idols Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross.
The Players Table is a TV adaptation of Jessica Goodman’s book “They Wish They Were Us.”
There is no release date yet for the new show but be sure to keep up to date with AfterBuzz TV for even more on The Players Table and the latest news in entertainment.
