Garcelle Beauvais leaves The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to focus on family and new projects after five drama-filled seasons.
Garcelle Beauvais is officially stepping away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The actress and reality star announced her departure on Tuesday, March 25, marking the end of her five-season run on the Bravo hit.
“I have some news: I have decided to leave Beverly Hills,” Garcelle Beauvais, 58, revealed in a heartfelt Instagram video. “It’s been a wild ride, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened—but it’s been a ride nevertheless.”
Garcelle Beauvais cited two major reasons for her exit: her family and her flourishing career in Hollywood.
“One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys. Their last year of high school is next year and I want to be a part of that. And Jade is starting a new career and I want to be a part of that, too,” she explained.
Her second reason? Exciting new career opportunities. “I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing, and acting in—I can’t tell you anything now, but you’ll know soon,” she teased.
Garcelle Beauvais made sure to thank RHOBH‘s executive producer Andy Cohen, Bravo, NBC Universal, and the show’s production teams at Evolution and 32 Flavors. “The producers, the crew, and of course, the ladies,” she added, acknowledging her castmates.
She also reassured fans that this may not be a permanent goodbye. “Andy Cohen says I can come back anytime, the door will always be open, so you never know, I might pop back in sometime,” she hinted.
Garcelle Beauvais made history as the first Black woman to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in Season 10, which premiered in April 2020. Over five seasons, she became a fan favorite for her honesty, wit, and willingness to stand her ground in the face of drama.
Currently starring on RHOBH are Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, and Bozoma Saint John, with Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly appearing as Friends of the Housewives. Garcelle Beauvais’ exit comes just ahead of the Season 14 finale and an anticipated three-part reunion special.
Before joining Bravo, Garcelle Beauvais had a long career in entertainment. From sitcoms like The Jamie Foxx Show to dramas like NYPD Blue, and films including Coming to America, Coming 2 America, White House Down, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, she’s done it all.
Her time on RHOBH helped boost her career to new heights. She spent two years as a co-host on The Real before the talk show ended in 2022, and she inked a first-look development deal with NBC Universal. Recently, she starred in Netflix’s Survival of the Thickest and executive-produced multiple Lifetime movies, including Caught in His Web and Black Girl Missing.
“To the fans, I want to say thank you so much. You guys have cheered me on, supported me, and sometimes even fought for me or on my behalf,” Beauvais said in her Instagram farewell. “It means a lot and I hope you guys will continue on this journey with me.”
“It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later,” she added. “So see you later.”
