After 19 seasons, The Ellen DeGeneres Show is finally wrapping up. Here are five great moments throughout the years.
Ellen DeGeneres is ending her long-running talk show on May 26th, 2022.
Her first episode premiered in back 2003 with guest star Jennifer Aniston and has aired more than 3,000 episodes since.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been filled with monumental moments, contagious laughter, and heartfelt tears.
In honor of her final debut, here are some signature moments from her hit show.
“Speak Out” Challenge
One of Ellen’s favorite games to play with celebrities is the “Speak Out” challenge. From Sandra Oh drooling to Mandy Moore dying of laughter, there’s a lot of chaos endured. Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt’s hilarious affair with the game is also one to remember. Just take a look for yourself to find out what he really means to say!
Scaring Guests
Ellen is one for practical jokes and pranks. She has the skill of scaring her guests when they least expect it. The talk show host has scared over a hundred celebrities (some more than others; just ask Sarah Paulson) throughout the 19 seasons of her show. Their reactions are simply priceless.
Hidden Camera Prank
When is Ellen not up for fun and games? Well, for a comedian, that can be a challenge. Another admirable part of The Ellen DeGeneres Show is the infamous hidden camera prank. From Jennifer Aniston’s hysterical encounter with Skippy, the bike messenger, to Adele eating wheatgrass to Melissa McCarthy oversharing in the dry cleaner, what’s not to love? There’s a laugh in it for everyone unless you’re at the butt of the joke!
Never Have I Ever
Want to know what some of your favorite celebrities have done? Who’s joined the mile-high club? Who got out of a speeding ticket? Who’s drunk dialed an ex? You’ll find out who they really are because Ellen’s never have I ever questions never fail to spill the tea. Drop it like it’s hot; things get heated when Martha Stewart reveals she sexted, Anna Kenrick got handcuffed, and Snoop Dogg went to a nude beach.
Ellen’s 12 Days of Giveaways
Ellen’s catchphrase is “be kind.” While laughter is inevitable on the show, so are tears. Tears of joy that is. During the holiday season, Ellen implements the 12 Days of Giveaways. She helps many underprivileged families, students in inner-city schools, and establishments get back on their feet. The comedian wants everyone to feel merry and bright. Additionally, she gifts the studio audience numerous prizes. Over the course of 19 years, she has given $450 million.
While The Ellen DeGeneres Show is coming to end, these moments will last a lifetime.
