The Roys are about to return to Sunday nights! Season 4 of the acclaimed series returns on March 26th, and we’ve got everything you need to know beforehand!
Over the past three seasons, the Roy family has established themselves as a staple of modern TV. From Logan’s nasty insults to Greg’s awkwardness to Kendall’s… well, Kendallness, we couldn’t imagine HBO without them. Now we officially have a trailer and a release date for Season 4!
We only have to wait until March 26th, and with new episodes in sight, we’ve got everything you need to know going into the much anticipated new season. *Spoilers ahead for Seasons 1-3*!
Where We Left Off
In case you somehow forgot, at the end of Season 3, Logan sold the company to Alexander Skarsgard’s Matsson, essentially cutting his children out of the business. To add insult to injury, it was Tom (with some slight help from Greg) that tipped Logan off on the kids’ plan to sabotage the deal. And just like that, we cut to black. That was a pretty shocking way to end a season of one of the most popular shows on TV and has left us all eagerly anticipating season 4.
What Will Happen This Season?
From the brief information we got in the trailer, it is clear that season 4 will be an all out war between Logan and his children. That is except for Connor, whose loyalties are still unclear. We do see glimpses of his wedding to Willa, but we don’t know if he will at all be helping his half siblings in their battle for the company. We see that he is at least willing to meet with and have a conversation with them, which is more than Logan is willing to do, as the trailer confirms that he has no plans to include them in this business deal.
We also briefly see that Tom’s move against Shiv may have done some permanent damage to their relationship as he talks to Logan about the possibility of them splitting up. He, of course, does so in a very Tom fashion.

There are a few brief shots that imply that Kendall will also be going through a rough time, but what else is new?

New Cast Members
Of course, series regulars like Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Nicholas Braun will be returning, but much like season 2’s addition of Holly Hunter and Alexander Skarsgard in season 3, there will be plenty of guest stars joining the cast this year.
Skarsgard will be back as Mattson, as will Cherry Jones as Nan Peirce. If you’ll remember, the Roys tried to buy Peirce’s company back in season 2, but the deal fell through. It’s unclear how she will be involved with the drama this time around. Maybe the siblings will go to her in an attempt to bring down Logan, or maybe Logan will try to use Mattson’s wealth to try and buy out Peirce again.
There have also been some notable Scandinavian cast members added, including Vikings: Valhalla’s Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson and Thelma’s Eili Harboe. These cast additions, plus the fact that some of this season was filmed in Norway, lead us to believe that we will be visiting Mattson’s home country and maybe seeing more of the company.
Annabeth Gish will be joining the cast this season as well. You may know her best as Mrs. Dudley in The Haunting of Hill House.
There’s no way to know for sure what is in store for us this season, but if star Nicholas Braun is to be trusted, we are in for a terrific season of television!
